Mission icon on screen wont go away when finding location

Went to Lifepod 3 because I'm getting "Lifepod 3 - Crew reported their seaglide damaged." Message wont disappear and is stuck on screen even after rebooting game. I've circled the area, retrieved the data log and seaglide part. Doesn't seem like there's anything left to do.

This is not a bug. When you listen to a message on the radio, the game places a 'Signal' on the character's "Paperdoll" slot. There are two of these slots to the left and right side of the "paperdoll' head. If you are no longer interested in that 'Signal', you can remove the 'Signal' from the slot, and the message will go away. Alternatively, in the Ping manager, you can turn the equipped signals on or off. The message does not go away when you have done everything by that lifepod. Rather, it goes away when you unequip the Signal.

This is a very useful feature later in the game because you may remember seeing some valuable resource next to one of the Lifepods and want to go back. For example, there may be a huge wreck next to one of the lifepods. As the game progresses, you may find yourself with six or eight or so of those signals.
