<div class="IPBDescription">(70k)</div> This is my first attempt at drawing a chibi like skulk. Second ever attempt at drawing a chibi character (<a href='http://www.thehouseofbamboo.co.uk/cal/anime/colouredsephiroth.gif' target='_blank'>Sephiroth</a> was my first ever attempt.) I kinda messed up the DC a little, but I think the proportions are correct. It took about 15 minutes to sketch and maybe 5 minutes to shade it a little. Comments welcome.

    its ok. You need to loosen your hand and not be afraid to exaggerate. The body shape is too much like a regular skulk. Try to work in circles if that makes sense. When I think Chibi I think bubbles, midgets, Hamtoroo. Keep that in mind and not Skulk. Just make sure you have the elements of a skulk tho. Underbite, fangs, claws etc. Hope this helps if you are goin to work on it. Sepheroth was cute and well done. It has a dbz feel to the line work. Seems more like Dbz than chibi to me. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yes, try doing it a little sketchy to begin with, with light lines and then narrow it down to the final hard line

    Have you got any links to sites where I can learn or see similar work? I'd like to learn your style of drawing Deunen, where did you learn/have you got any sites for similar work?

    I can see what you mean about chibi, I'm currently learning from a book and they call it different things so I'm not too sure what chibi is. From the book I'm learning from I think it would be called SD real life.

    I'd like to be able to draw well <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I have been drawing since I was really young so I dont know what to tell you. I only started taking classes in Junior and Senior year Highschool and it was really easy for me. I'd say start out by scribbling on a page. just draw anything just do it quickly. and fill the whole page. You'll notice in a couple of the pics on my site its just a page full of faces or something like that. Most of my sketch books are full of those. When you see something you like or when something just clicks in your mind you slow down and try to capture what ever it is that you like. I think you learn from that. Also when you see a picture, any picture, imagine how it was draw. Imagine the shapes underneath it. I enjoy looking at sketches more than finished pieces because you can see the thought process at work in a sketch. Another thing I do is work in pen and never erase. You can see your mistakes and you can see what works and what doesn't. I would rather draw a whole picture over than trace, erase, or whatever. Working in pen forces me to do that.
    Hope this helps

    What sort of pen do you use? I want something quite thick, using a black biro means going over the lines again and again.
