On a robot of some sort...
Here's another weird thingamajig from me... I should really start practicing on animation soon... but I'm still taking baby steps with learning to shade and colour effectively. I think I could of worked a bit more on it's back area... anyone else have any recommendations?

yeah, decide where the light is coming from and make shadows acordingly, don't make shadows where it looks good, if you keep with the one light source it will end up looking good. The metal frame around the eye should have some shadow on it, at least at the bottom part to illustrate that it is scewing inwards around the eye.

As for the thingamajig, look great. keep that stuff up!

From my point of view, looks like most of the light is comming from the top. Put shades under the arm, not above it.
