<div class="IPBDescription">To requesters ....</div> Ok, i posted this mini-rant up in the sig and avatar thread, but i feel it needs to stand out a little more. More people need to read this, to be honest. Also, this version will go into a little more detail than what i've already posted.
The main target for this rant is the people that are requesting work done. This can be anything, a new sig, avatar, model, map, skin or anything at all. Anything that requires work done by anyone other than the person requesting.
In my time posting in this and other forums i've noticed a great lack in common courtesy whilst requesting things. Allow me to present you with two fictional examples. These are fictional, of course, to prevent flaming.

Ok, so which example are we all going with here? Example 2? All that was needed was a few simple personal touches and the occasional please and thank you. Is that really too hard?
Making anything (again this can be anything from sig/avatars up to entire maps or models) requires time and work for the artist / modeller / designer and is entirely done profit-free and because they feel like being nice to their fellow forumite, at <b>least</b> have the courtesy to be humble to the fact that you're asking for something for nothing.
Another thing, some people's expectations. A number of people expect for this work to be done instantly. They don't think for a <i>second</i> that there's a possibility that people may frown on their rude attitude and not bow to their wishes. As i mentioned before, the simple addition of please and thank you increases the possibility that people will do something for you since they feel that they're doing something for someone who will actually be grateful for their work.
Also, people all over these forums are doing generous things for their peers and a number of times not even the single gesture of thanks or gratitude is expressed.
Anyway, i hope this makes some sort of sense to other people. I'm sure you know what i'm getting at.
