Post your stuff here... now
Ok.... I know ns world does a good job of hosting this information but you have to click each map and plus it's busy all the time (for me anyway - I get ASP errors saying too many connections etc)..
So if YOU ALL could do US ALL a favour please post the following information in this thread:

thanks YOU ALL.
by the way, if you are wondering why I'm asking for this...it's really to ensure originality - nothing worse than mapping a map to find out that someone else has already done the same idea...

Map Title: NS_Odlers
Setting: On a deep space ISRI O.D.L.E. Research Station(ISRI - Interplanetary Space Research Initiative, ODLE - Oxygen Dependant Lifeform Environments)
Background Story (if any): The TSA funded ISRI O.D.L.E Research Station was conducting it's regular tests and scientific study on various species of animals, searching for a solid foundation for adapting human lungs to multiple atmospheres, and after being online for 12 months, the station received new orders - A new species of alien life had been found. It had already ravaged several manned and unmanned spacecraft and The TSA needed to know as much about it as possible. Confident in the O.D.L.E. station's containment facilities, The TSA sent a dozen live samples and a vacated "hive". Testing began immediately on arrival of the specimans. Scientists excitedly recorded findings of mutation ablities previously unknown to man. 6 months of testing and multiple freight containers with live specimans led to a multitude of data and more information than The TSA would ever need. 2 Weeks before the crew was due to disembark on the journey home, to present their findings, all communication was lost. ISRI liased with the TSA and a squad of Frontiersmen is being now sent to investigate.

To be fair I’m not that slow a mapper, I rebuilt the map entirely 4 times, went through many layouts and 2 distinctly different visual styles ... or perhaps I am just a deluded, slow mapper trying to justify the amount of time I invested into Caged
Setting: Infested moon of a planet (i will decide on specifications later)
Background Story: 4 weeks ago satelite# 198745 detected an anomaly in sector Alfa 4 subsector kappa 6 upon further inspection it was determined that this anamoly was an alien infested moon of planet (to be dicided). While examaning the photographs it was noticed thats there was a large crater with much alien groth and infestation. In this crater we noticed a "main hive" with two other ones in close proximity. We sent a large group of Marines to destroy this threat they anialated most everything but unfortunatly did not destroy the "master hive" before becoming overrun... We are sending a group of frontiersmen to clean up this mess before it gets any worse. Good Luck Marine!
date when I began the map: Still working on a good layout for the crater battle including caves a abandoned dropship now infested and your dropship.

Setting: marine space ship
Background Story (if any):The USS Ayan, a new explorer, was sent with a minimal crew into a nearby asteroid field to scan the asteroids for resources to exploit. The ship was controlled by the autopilot while the crew was in cryo-sleep but the asteroid-tracking had a malfunction and an asteroid crashed the USS Ayan, big enough to destroy a whole section of the front. The ship stopped, the main engine was still intact so the only thing to be done was to restart the computer and get the ship out
to a repair dock of the Palladium Station. They tried to contact the crew as the ship's mainframe sent an emergency message, but without success. Two days later a rescue ship made it's way to the USS Ayan floating between asteroids without any sign of life on board, the ship was very valuable to the TSA. As the rescue ship arrived at the damaged ship they've gone on board with their standard equipment for eventual incidents. Shortly after they entered the ship they noticed that the asteroid crashing with the ship has brought something on board...

Setting: Oceanic outpost (think oil rig or that water city in Star Wars Ep.2)
Background Story (if any): to be written
Date when you began map: concept and initial gathering of media - July/August 2002
Setting: Arquade Station 3SRS - Sub Sector 77
Background Story (if any): An immense facility, the players are located on level -77, near an auxiliary docking bay. Primary use of the sector is purely for maintenance, but it has proven useful for those last minute shipments while the station's main shipping and loading docks were full. A back door of sorts.
After the workers of the facility discovered that Sub Sector 77 had recieved a freak shipment of... aliens... the entire level was closed off and quarantined for a week until TSA troops could be brought in. Ship still attached, the aliens began to infest what they could. Three hives began to develop: Two within the station itself, another on board the ship.
Enter, the Frontiersmen.
Date when you began map: February 2002
Setting: Arquade Station 3SRS - Sub Sector 81
Background Story (if any): Hah. All I have so far is that it takes place in Space Station Nothing's main powerplant sector which is located on Sub Sector 81. Four sectors below ns_nothing.
Date when you began map: August 2002
