I'm sad too say I do not know whether it will be a movie, TV series or OVA..... <b>Athena get cracking</b>.
But I AM really really really really happy Basement Jaxx are doing part of the OST! (And that Paul Oakenfold fellar.... whoever he is)

It's shaping up to be a very Masamune year.... What with Special Eps of GitS:SAC, the new GitS movie (Innocence) and now this.

For those who don't know. Appleseed is a cyber punk series where the law goes around with mechs and proceeds to beat the snot out of the bad guys (Short version)

The reason I'm happy about this is, not because it is another Masamune Shirow production, but because has a superb mecha backdrop to the show.

By this I don't mean like GitS's cyberpunk theme, but ACTUAL 10 tonne mechas walking around on the street. It's a very very very hard genre to get right.

I think a bump for awesomeness is required.


1.) This is only the 2nd time I have seen a relatively well known DJ be on the OST of an anime series (The last being Juno Reactor for the opening theme for TEXHNOLYZE)
2.) It's a damn good mecha universe.
3.) All the fanboys need to see this.

I've always loved appleseed but after the last anime they made of it I'm wary =P

I believe it's a CG tv series, there was a range of action figures released with DVD previews (one of which i have). This is pure speculation, but i've heard a lot of rumours.

I can confirm it is a completely CG created movie.

So that's another too look forward too.

The preivew was included on the Region 2 release of the original Applseed Special Edition DVD

OMG Appleseed is the very first anime/manga thingy i ever watched, its the only dvd I own too in this genre. I even did a report on it way back in highschool when I compaired it to Greek mythology.
