1 thing.......How in the world could you like the crucible..... OMG i hated that, so bad, so very very bad. it was miserable. had to read it for english 11th grade year stuff.
Out of curriosity do any of you highschool(or Elementary kids for that matter) have the **** **** **** **** **** as **** !!#@$#^#@ **** **** A.R.?(Accelerated Reader) wow, that piece of crap can goto hell. and whoever made it too. it makes me hate reading.

This book is a great read for anybody who is interested in ethics. It is set in Nigeria back in the early 1900s. The main character, Okonkwo, is a great man within his tribe and he has earned many honors. He has a hard life but he adheres to the ancient African traditions of his pagan gods and his village. Then, the white man shows up and "introduces" Christianity to Nigeria. The book goes on to describe how the villages of Okonkwo's nation handle the impositions of these foreigners.
In the end the reader is left with a real moral dilemna in that the book forces one to weigh the pagan traditions against Christianity. All in all the best book I've ever read.
Another book that I enjoyed was
<u>Siddhartha</u> by Herman Hess (I read the book in its translated form, it was orginially written in german.)
This book is about all things spiritual. Very good if you're into mystical/spiritual/intellectual type genre.
