You know it's bullcrap when they don't tell anywhere what it can actually do and how it works. Can it feed your cat? If you say: "bake me a pai" can it use an oven? I bet you have to teach it every single thing and it's more work to teach it stuff than to actually do it. And then if you buy a new oven, you have to teach it to use it too.

Not to mention it's cheaper to hire a chef to bake you that pai and he does it much faster.

...paii...I shouldn't have talked about it so much. Now I'm hungry.

Edit: yeah, it's a movie too. Well, I still knew it sucks.

And movies don't bake me a pai.

It sounds too good to be true, which is why as always, I think it isn't.

It looks way too flimsy and top heavy to be able to stand based on today's technology, and it doesn't mention anywhere what this thing actually DOES other than it's a "personal domestic assistant", and a few sentances about a "positronic brain" the "Teresa 2.1.2 OS", and the fact that it is "3 laws complient" which could be pulled out of the anus of anyone who has watched Bicentenial Man.

The site has no real information, only vaugearities* and a clip of an obviously computer generated fly-by of various parts of the machine. The "pictures" in the gallery are all taken from this almost-certainly-cg movie.

What I am getting at is, there is nothing on this site to suggest such a robot actually exists

So is it a prank? I don't know. If it is it's pretty elaborate, but then the PS3 turned out to be a very good CG render didn't it? People have a LOT of time on their hands, take somethingawful.com for example.

I will say though that if it IS real, it is the most awesome thing in the history of awesomeness. Did anyone else notice it looks like the androids from Space Colony?

*If vaugearities isn't a word it should be.

*edit* It's a promotion for a film? Told ya See, life does not favour an optimist. Guess I'll have to stick to that floaty screen thing for my source of futuristic awesomeness for now*edit*

nil_IQ, the bicentenial man was simply a single short story by Isaac Asimov who, along with 1 other author, created the 3 laws of robotics, coined the term positronic brain, and is obviously the main source of information for this production

I'm surprised at the amount of people who are drawn in by this because they've never heard of "I, Robot"... sad really.

Yeah, it is kinda sad, because he's a great science fiction writer. If you don't like to read or just don't like science fiction, it's another matter of course.

He wasn't just a good Sci-Fi writer, he practically invented the genre.
