<div class="IPBDescription">i need a tutorial kinda</div> well i have a Sony VAIO currently 2 years old, i got 256 MB of PC-133 SDRAM, a New 80gig HD AND a new raedon9600xt vid card, my friend still can't find the time to hook everything up and i wanna hook it up and get it done with, the only reason why im alittle timid about doing it myself is he said u have to reformat and set slaves and master and comp start up HD which i dont find myself fit to do, so if anyone knows how to hook everything up id be more then appreciative if you write a tutorial in a replied post to tell me step by step how to hook and set everything up (im not toally rand new b/c i took a comp course in school where we took apart comps and put em back together.

How many hard drives do you have, and is windows already installed on any of them (i.e., what are you planning on doing with them?)

Look at the one with windows on it, there should be a diagram on it that looks like the pins on the back. On the pins there should be a little black thingamajig, called a jumper cap. Look at that diagram and make sure its either set to cable select or master. The second drive should be set to either cable select or slave. When hooking them up the IDE cable should have one plug which goes into your mobo, then two other plugs that look like it close together (you want the lone plug in the mobo and the top one in the master HD and second in slave). RAM and video card can only go in one way, just make sure if youre card is AGP its going in the brown slot.
