So lemme get this right (since I cannot current access #naturalselection);

We can donate money to the NS team. In exchange we get whatever the Constellation package is (I honestly don't care about that, I can wait for releases like everyone else and a special forum doesnt justify payment for me personally), and yet in your official IRC channels profanity is not allowed?

Come on, who the **** are we kidding here? I can pay money to be a Constellation member but I can't say ****, **** and other dren that's nothing more than mere words in an IRC channel?

Not trying to be an ****, or a devils advocate. Serious question. I've considered donating for some time but this has been my main deterant. I hate being censored, and I realize it is your channel, your forums, etc but when money is involved...rules change.

    until you donate, why should you care?

    im not a constie yet (money is in the mail), but i believe there is a special IRC channel for them.

    either way, maybe its because Flayra & Co. decided that they dont want tards in the general access channel saying things like ****, because that gives a bad image of the mod community


    edit: and you are basicly saying "i wont support this awesome mod because the nazi moderators dont let me swear"

    Dude, its DONATION, try dictionary.com for crying out loud, the point is that you give something for NOTHING. You contribute towards NS, you do not need anything back, consti is just a perk that is Flayra's way of paying us back without having to spend any extra money (he's poor enough as he is...).

    Money is involved, but you give it freely with the understanding that its DONATING.... these aren't your forums, here you obey the rules, money or no money.

    It's the same on the forums as IRC, same rules apply.

    It's because firstly, you don't need to be able to swear to convey your message, and secondly, there's young people that read these forums, and to keep it an all-ages thing, swearing is prohibited.

    But really, not donating because of a swear filter sounds like the dumbest reason ever.



    PS, there's no "constellation package", you donate money, that's it. Whatever you get, you get as a bonus, you pay for nothing and should expect (other than the icon) to recieve nothing in return. No betas, no ban immunity, no special swearing priviledges, nothing.

    Don't give your money to the NS team for the wrong reasons. The point is that you are donating your cash to them because you like the game enough to support it in that manner. There are no real given benefits other than a nice purty icon you get next to your name in game, and access to the Constellation forums.

    I did however get to beta test 3.0 before it was released (along with all the other Constie members) back when 2.0 was out. Now I get to beta test 3.0b6, but being a constie doesn't mean you get to beta test everything--you would become part of a pool of people that the NS team can count on for a wider range of testing and opinions than the PTs.

    Besides, if you like the game, why not support it? You did download it FREE afterall <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
