Your Mod On Steam 21 Comments
3/29/2004 17:23 PST | Steam | by redef
Word at VERC is that Valve is now accepting requests to have mods distributed via Steam. Here’s the info:
We'd like to begin collecting builds from Mod teams interested in distributing their Mod on Steam.
Players will be able to click on the icon for your Mod in the Games list to install your Mod and then get all of the files they need. This means they won't need to visit a web site to download the content and install it manually. We will be able to release new versions of your Mod on Steam so everyone will automatically get the updates.
Dedicated servers will also be able to get the content for your Mod.
We should be ready to start distributing Mods on Steam in the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you'd like to have your team's Mod included, please put together a complete build of what you'd like to release (.zip or .exe) and send me an e-mail with a link to the file so I can download it and get things ready on our end. Make sure the build you give us has been tested with Steam.
Please also include contact information for a Mod team member for us to communicate with if we have any questions/problems.
Let me know if you have any questions.

The day that happened to CS, i stopped playing it..
Oh well, there's still time <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I have to agree more players mean a bigger community, yes growth is hard and painfull but its then only way the mod will grow as a whole.
Also this anti-cs attitude has to stop its not the game but the players that make it bad, as for the players 9/10 like any other mod are ok and are nice people, the trick is to find a server you like playing on and stick thier.
I play CS and have come across very little horrid people yes you get the od cheater on a servers but thats what admins are for.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I'm a CSer and I've been playing NS since 1.04 <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hehe 1.02/3 here, i started playing around that time, oh how i miss the auto sieges and laser trip mines, and the lone fatteh that had the weight of the team on his shoulders.
As ironic as it might be to get that out of Jez' mouth, it's absolutely correct.
Everything said about CS is true, good admins make good servers, and not all of us are bad people...however the 12 year olds that squeak and don't know when to be quiet are the ones that give the rest of us a bad name...
I guess I am not the norm then...<!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Totally Agree. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It might even mean more Constie members, which means a BETTER Natural Selection.
If instead you mean we're going to be swamped with pre teen griefers, then that won't last long because admin commands > griefers.
we're already here, pal.
