At my apartment I have a router set up with 2 comps hooked to it, my cousins and mine. Everytime one of us is in a game and the other one tries to join the game the person in the game will get disconned and the person trying to connect wont be able to connect> Kind of frustrating, the only thing I can think of is the computers are trying to use the router IP. Anyone have a solution to this?

Also make sure you have 2 valid CDKeys. (though I am still rather sure you can't both join the same server.. again, not positive)
Try a different server too, some servers won't let 2 connections from the same IP address. Guess it is to prevent "ghosting".

This is how it works:
Your ISP gives you one IP (either static or dynamic).
If you had one computer you would simply set up said computer the proper way (either telling it to obtain an IP automaticly, or giving it the ip/subnet mask/gateway/DNS).
However, you have 2 computers, so instead you set up the Router to have that WAN IP addy. It the sends data to the other 2 computers.
Another way of thinking about this is that the router is a computer, and it is connected to the net. That computer (router) then decideds what info to send to the other 2 computers.
If you run ipconfig (type cmd in the run line then type ipconfig) you will see what you lan IP is (probaby sometihng like 192.168.1.100 or 101), This is not your actual IP.
To find out your REAL IP, browse over to 192.168.1.1, the PW is probably admin (thats the default). The third tab is status, if you click that you can see what you wan IP addy is.
Now that I have finished my silly little leason in networking (and that is as far as my knowledge in the subject goes).
I am guessing you probably only have 1 cd key. Go buy a $5 version of HL and use that CD key.
So ong as the CD key is not being used by 2 people at the same time your are spot on.

dear ns forums, destro says he has two cd keys and apparently there are issues with router?
I think destro maybe you should go to store and buy a real router not one out of crackerjack box. might fix your problem.
also maybe you can update firmware (bake it on like korean instructions say) and then have magical new working router.
cast magic missile (april fools!!!!!)
but really my two middle paragraphs and the first one should say all?
