I Can't Play Ns!

Alright you guys, now, I have just recently learned of NS and what a beautiful mod it looks like, of course, I think AvP2 might be better, but oh well. Anyway, I cannot play NS, whenever I finish installing it, all it says in the folder is "NS Dedicated Server" and I know I downloaded the actual mod, not the client thingy.

Links, advice, and mainly help would be useful.

My System Specs are:

Intel 2.4 GHz Processor (HT)
1 Gig HYPERX DDRAM
Radeon 9700 Pro A-i-W
Windows XP (Home Edition) (Could this be the problem? I doubt it)

And if someone says April fools to me I'll trace their IP and hit them with a garden rake. I swear I will.

Heh. It sounds like you downloaded the dedicated server, and not the client (?). Are you trying to play the game, or are you trying to host a server?

If you're trying to play, you need the client installs for NS 3.0 beta 1, and then the patch for NS 3.0 beta 3. Close steam, install beta 1, then install beta 3, and then relaunch Steam. When Steam reopens, there should be a "Natural Selection (beta)" choice on the "Third Party Games" list. Just connect to any server and it should work from there.

If you're trying to host a dedicated server, then you need the specific install for your server OS (windows), and install the 3.0 beta 1 server install, and 3.0 beta 3 server patch.
