Well, hi there (question: respawn)

Hi, this is my first visit to this site, and I must say this mod looks quite impressive both in graphics and more importantly in gameplay.
However I have a question, what is the price of respawn?
I gather that is costs you resource, but how much and I what way, and how exactly do you get these resources. And does it take time to respawn (or will it just be another quake fragfest, booooring)?

I know these questions have probably been asked dozerns of times, but one more time canøt hurt.

There are two modes, Casual (the default) and Tournament. In Casual respawns are free, in tourny respawns might cost money but I'm not sure. And in both the commander has the ability to spawn everyone in the que at once for a fee once he gets higher in the tech tree.

But we just found out that Tournament mode won't be in Version 1. It hasn't been playtested, and we don't know how balanced it would be yet. So just Casual for now.

If you like to read, this thread explains it more:

So it doesn't cost anything at all to die in casual mode?

    1. Resources are collected from resource nozzles spread around the map, just like a true real-time strategy. No points for frags here. Personal glory is nothing compared to the team.

    2. It does take time to respawn. It isn't a deathmatch instant respawn, but it doesn't make you sit the round out, either. The wait in casual play is about 18 seconds per marine, per infantry portal. Of course, in an emergency, the commander can summon all the marines in the respawn queue at once. For a hefty resource cost, of course.

    Hopes this helps.

    Tournament mode IS in v1.0.

and on this day, Flayra has corrected all. Though you must note it sounded like it wasn't going to be included, but that was more out of implication as it hadn't been tested.

It definitely does. All the weapons, ammo, health, and items spent on the person that dies goes down with him. This can ultimatly be nearly 100 resources per person, depending on who they are and how long they last.

Also, Infantry Portals and Hives, cost RP's. So, building them is costy, but you are awarded with no respawn cost other then time.

It is possible to pic up the plays current weapon that they had out when they died, for the note. Similar to CS.

I thought it was. That's why I was wondering why everyone was saying that it wasn't.

Sounds great, I was afraid it would be like Quake where the goal is to rack up as many kills as possible. Sounds like I'll be playing this game in a few days.
