<div class="IPBDescription">Need help !</div> Hi fellow mappers, ive been mapping for a while now and everything always worked fine, no leaks, blabla, but since steam has been released i cant seem 2 run my maps anymore. Everything from the first starting up dialog works fine but it seem 2 keep hanging at the second dialog around the 5th stripe. My compiling progress went fine. I did everything that is in the stickied topics. Plz i need help!!!! i got like 5 id's for maps but i cant make em :s

    Try to compile outside your steam folder and at the end of the compile, copy the bsp file where you have to. There is a problem with the compile tools and the special characters on the steam folders... could this be your problem?

    that aint my problem, the problem is that steam just crashes when i wanna run a map that i compiled with xpcagey's compile tools ( the map is in the list when you wanna start a game yourself ingame ) . It doesnt crash 2 windows, the bar just stops moving.

    Post the compile log, and check the console when the bar stops moving (I assume it takes you to the "Create Server, Find Server" menu, right?)

    what bar? the connecting to local game server?

    try starting up on an 'offical' map then bring up the console and type map <mapname> [enter] ?

    Tried, it crashed halfway changing map, same thing : the bar stops moving in middle :s

    then changed map to your map and dies?

    what version of the compile tools are you running?
    did you take the other suggestion and compile you map in a different folder, e.g. c:\hammer\?

    sure no errors in compile log?

    no errors , + i downloaded the latest compile tools today+ i had same problem before i downloaded & then i used the normal valve hammer tools & an older version of ZHLT.
    Ill try compiling in another directory but i dont think thats the problem.

    Er, anyway, move your map source to another directory, such as C:\NS and compile from there, then move it to the nsp\maps\ folder. Maybe that would work (worked for me).

    He means moving C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\dsk__g_crew@hotmail.com\half-life\nsp\maps\ns_tetris

    Could it be because the directory (c:\map\map) doesnt excist yet ?

    k now compiling worked, i gonna place the .bsp on the right place & try now.


    Everything worked, but its kinda lame that you have 2 move your map everytime, when will there be an update + what is causing it (the compile tools?)
