How to win as a rine in v4
Ok, I know v4 is a lot different for rines now, but there is still a way to camp and win.

Every single rine gets mines

When enough rines get the mine upgrade, the floor literly becomes a solid mine field that easily stops any sulks, lerks and fades from getting close and taking over.

The one point loss isn't that bad, I can still go jp shotgun lvl2 and resupply, or if I feel evil jp gl resupply.

Try it out, get enough people to buy mines and just carpet your spawn with them. It'll buy you enough time to get shotguns and HA's and whatnot before aliens can get onos to come to spawn

hello captain obvious. mines are the most blatantly obvious thing to prevent spawn camping, but do you think any of those nub pubbers are reading this right now?

I always get mines in Combat.

Unless you're a crack shot, one mine will do more damage than your gun will in the 1/2 second you're alive during a spawncamp.

When the spawncamping starts, watch the menu for when you're reinforcing. When that happens, get ready.

Pop out, quick-switch to 4, and slap that puppy down on the ground. If you can do that before you die, you've just given the next guy in line a bit more of a chance to survive. Plus, if you do manage to eventually beat back the spawncampers, you've probably got a couple more levels to upgrade with.

Mines bring much enjoyment to me, placed in a random spot. Every time I see a mine kill I giggle. :)

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. It's EASY to win as 'rines in b4. The first step is to stop playing stupid Combat. From then on, you can proceed pretty much as you did in b3.

Good point there. By not playing Combat, you've already come out as a winner.

Don't listen to the classic nazis.
Combat is the answer. Combat will protect you from the terrible secret of space.

one alien invests 3 points on xenocide and negates every marine's 1 point investment... loss for marines...

Mines might get you a few kills early on, but this is beta4, you have to be aggressive to win as marines. Remember, the aliens get exp for sitting and waiting for you. Those mines aren't gonna dig skulks out of the vents or help you hit the hive.
And now with more randomized locations and non-wave spawning spawn camping isn't as much of a problem so really mines won't help you there.

And once they have few fades or onos or even a gorge mines won't help you much. That point would be much better spent on an offensive weapon or armor so you can push up.

About the only place a mine can be handy is putting one on the backside of the CC on a map like core where skulks can hide behind it and cause trouble.

Mines are kind of stupid in that it's the only weapon that rewards you for dieing. Congrats, you died. You get a new mine but the enemy probably got a level.

But at least it doesn't cause leprosy. I'd rather be insane than leprotic.

50 mines exploding at once is one buggy sound effect!

But yeah, mine all you want, one bilebomb clears the room.
