<div class="IPBDescription">It's real!</div> I've got to say, I really enjoyed playing Marine Vs Marine mod. Though knowing who is on your team is a bit confusing at times and I would recommend not having FF ON.
So, could THIS be the next secret system they have been talking about??

Ditto. A system that would change the way we play Natural-selection implies that it's a change to existing gameplay, not a whole new format.
Speaking of FF, maybe you should try getting them to use the Communist Marine skins for team2 if possible. It's a bright-red colored TSA marine... I think NSArmsLab or Thrill2Kill have them.
NS was made to be played AvM and nothing else...
just imagine marines shooting CC of other marines... yakkkkk...
or seige... totaly sucky...
the only advantege u can have on your enemy is by having more RT(not campturing move hives)\
nyway that's what i think...
Oh and if you're looking for a fast game like regular CO, it might not happen. I've seen a map drag on for a long time.
But hey, I say it's good to see mods even though they are not supported. It expands on NS and that's good in my books.

No, one of the devs (i think it was cagey?) said that MvM is offically unsported in its current state.

In the original notes of NS, MvM and AvA were supposed to be optional gameplay methods.
Besides, 6 different playing modes would divide the player base too much. If you are a hardcore MvA classic player and you have now 6 servers you like to use, with Classic and combat both having MvM, MvA and AvA, you would have 1 server left. If NS would be played by a lot more people(CS scale), it would be possible. Currently when we have only so many servers, there's no room for 6 different game modes. Barely for 4.
I think Combat should stay as MvA and Classic could have to option as MvM and MvA, because Commander vs. Commander action(especially in organised play) is just too delicious to miss <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Not sure how well it will work on Classic NS. IT works well in CO right now... But you might be right. Having 6 diff types of NS could get confusing.

If you're planning on playing this mod look for a map called silly_v3.co (or something like that)
MvM sounds like it sucks over here, it seems as if its just CS, where your forced to do your objective, ****!
i myself would like to try AvA, seeing an onos devour a skulk, would be funny, AvA seems intresting.

AvA, on the otherhand, could be extremely interesting though much harder to work out balance-wise. No matter which way you look at it, Aliens are what make NS truly unique, and AvA certainly isn't going to be stale. I think it would take significant alterations of the entire balance for either MvM or AvA to work out, but in the case of AvA it would definitely be worth it if we could find a way to make it work.

more on topic, yeah i'd love massive skulk-fight, but if you thought distinguishing between friendly and enemy <u>rines</u> was hard...every AvA server would need automatic glow settings or something.

Actually, the first person to come up with MvM was MrBill. He posted instructions on how to do MvM maps in the mapping forum, and everyone else followed suit. NSArmslab is just as much a "poser" as anyone else, which is to say none.

This is <i>THE</i> reason why I want to see M v M officially supported.
if they figure out how to fix all this it would be fun, however an early beta of this would not.
