The Internet Hates Me.

<div class="IPBDescription">Okay, this is starting to bother me...</div> I have Sygate Personal Firewall.

About a week or two ago, I noticed some SOB kept port scanning me every twenty seconds. Irritated, I reported the guy's IP to my ISP, (from the backtrace I did, the IP is from the same service - I think I regret having done this). After about a day or two, it stopped.

These past few days, its started picking up again, only now, the IPs are all different. I turned on the computer and the second I do, my firewall kicks up...

Here's the largest screenshot I can get of what's just happened minutes ago:

Notice the time... even as I write this post, I'm getting bombarded by more scans.

Should I be concerned about this? I was a bit worried yesterday after my computer started acting up, (no Internet, PC acting extremely slow), but that seems to have passed now. I'm not even sure what, if anything, my ISP can do. Whatever is happening, this/these guy(s) are starting to really annoy me.

A scan doesnt mean they are "USING MAJOR H4X)RSSS!!".

A port scan can mean anything, including use for websites and doesnt mean 1 "hacker" person is doing it

    -edit-

also if your really scared, port scan yourself and shutdown all open ports.

The thing is that this has never happened so often before. I'm not doing ANYTHING other than leaving Trillian on, and there's still a flury of this BS.

Yeah, as long as you've got stealth across the board, you're pretty safe. Just ignore it until whoever's doing it's ADHD comes into affect.

*Edit* It's safe to assume it's the same guy/s gal/s as before, because they're all in the same IP set, but there's still not much to worry about.

    Thanks for the assurance.

Maybe its just the revenge mentality that really gets to me... must divert rage towards things more deserving of rage...

get spybot search and destroy, some spyware connects to outside sources and they send info back which could cause that to happen

Ask your ISP to change your IP, or leave the modem unplugged for about a day.

You cant stop it really... all those scans are usually from worms on infected machines. Even though most of them have been rendered useless by patches they still scan ports looking for vulnerable systems.

A common port I see scanned on my firewall is 3127, also a common backdoor for MyDoom
