Question about the trailer

<div class="IPBDescription">(the red lasers?)</div>in the trailor the marins have red aiming devices, but i cant see it on any screenshot
can anyone explain plz? <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

I BELIEVE that that first part is CGI (much like the fade at the end)
thus those lasers actualy were just there to be purrty

same deal with that first sequence that had the blue over cast and scan lines for the marines POV, that also is NOT in the game

The trailer was designed sorta like your traditional movie trailer, it shows the basics of the movie however it also has eddited bits (if there are any movie that you are REALY familiar with, go watch the trailer, there will generaly be parts where they eddit the sound to make a nonexistant scene that is just realy badass)

However, lasers were planned for V1, just weren't put in. Maybe V2 or something.

what would lasers do tho besides look cool and give away positions? they wouldn't help your aim much... and you don't really need to aim if you're shooting a level 5 <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/asrifle.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='::asrifle::'> <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tiny.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='::onos::'> how could you miss???

yes thr whole point of the game is having fun! and i know the lasers will give away your postions but maybe you can turn them on and off like the flashlight?

Of course the games about fun, but how does having a little red light make the game fun? As said before, it gives away position (unless the marines are the only one to see it) and as for aiming.. don't we have crosshairs?

The laser point gets smaller the further it is away.
Let's say you're in front of a dark alley way with 6 other comrades, and there's one alien lurking in there, cloaked (it chooses to not attack cause he's outnumbered alot). Then you scan with your lasers, and when it hits the alien, it becomes larger.

Or, since this is pretty much sci fi, the laser could give records about the alien, kind of like downloading it's status. Health and such.

I like that idea about the laser actually doing something like downloading info about aliens or making aim better and besides IT LOOKS KICK ###. and trust me if a group of marines are on the move its not the lasers u should worry about making that baits them out its the foot steps and them saying "OMG OMG OMG IM SCARED IM RUNNING AWAY!!!!!!!"
