Keys freezing in half-life

<div class="IPBDescription">Anybody else experienced this?</div>I have a problem with half-life. It seems that at least once every game the keys will kinda get stuck as if I were holding them down. the key itself isn't stuck. Like if I'm strafing left it'll keep strafing even after i've released the key. I gotta press the key again to stop. Its not all the time, its just random and semi-rarely.

I'm sure its a software problem because i bought another, brand new keyboard, and it still does it.

Plus the fact that it only does this in half-life, not in hitman2, nolf2, windows, or anything else.

Reinstalling HL and Windows didn't fix anything either. (I've had this problem for some time) :/

The worst part is that sometimes the keyboard will just die completely and I have to reboot my computer since there is no way to quit.

Has anybody else experienced this at all? or is it just me?

I've experienced it too.

I don't know what to do to stop it though sorry.

However it would be nice if someone could come up with a solution.

I've experienced similar problems with HL and other games. My keys stick and I have to tap them again to 'undo' them, or whatever. It's a rare enough occurance that I haven't tried very hard to fix it.

I have had it happen. Where action keys simply seem to unbind or whatever movement key I had used last 'seems' stuck. All I do is type 'kill' in console and repeat untill HL corrects itself. Usually 2 console kills does it for me. It could possibly be bugs in the map too that cause that. You die and the server keeps telling your comp 'HE AIN'T ALIVE YET!!!!!!'.

happens to me too, usually it's the movement keys "wasd". It just keeps strafing for a few seconds before it quits. Not a major problem, but sucks when it happens right in the middle of a fire fight.

Same thing has happened to me Doom. I think what happens is that the computer in the middle of loading something get told to "move." Then it loads the "move" command as default or something like that.

I have a keyboard problem to that maybe related or may not be but I have a problem where if i press more then three keys on my keyboard at a time the third one I press doesn't work. For example to strafe you press w and a that works fine for me but if i want to walk and press w,a,shift it will treat me as if im not holding my shift key. Ever sence it started doing that it has become a slight annoyence (yes i know i spelled it wrong). Im just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows how to fix it.

I've had this problem; simply press the key of the direction you're "stuck" in to fix it.

I've had this problem in hl only aswell... fortunately, it hasn't happened very much lately.
I also had another similar problem, where both the mouse and keyboard just LOCKS... this doesn't just happen in hl, it happens anywhere! The only way out is the reset button... I think it's a windows problem. I need to format and reinstall badly, but I would need a new hdd to backup all my stuff... and thats a LOT of stuff... <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

on my old computer when I played HL it was so bad I had to go in the console and type -reload and -jump to get it to stop, it seems to occur when I had alot of scripts...
