<div class="IPBDescription">This only applies if you go to school</div>Get VNC: <a href="http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/download.html" target="_blank">http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/download.html</a> This program will let you get on your computer from any internet browser using a java applet, just start VNC on your comp, set a password, then at school go to the library, lab, whatever, hop on, first see if the download is ready, if it is goto <a href="http://(youriphere):5800" target="_blank">http://(youriphere):5800</a> and start the download so you can avoid the lines afterwords! Hell you could even install before you get home <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

VNC rocks, i use it all the time with my buddies when we have to show each other how to do something on the comp.
just make sure u connect in 8-bit mode or it will be laggy as all hell (especially if your on 56k)

hehehe
will tell you what a hacker will do ok? may i?
he will scan arange of ip and see your comp has a port open, which means he can enter
when he will try, theyr will be a windows who ask a password, mr badnaughtyhaker will get another software and bruteforce (search on google for that word if you dont know the meaning of it) your password
and a hour later, he is inside
so, you still really think you absolutly have to download it from school?
Oh really? Then why can't this so-called hacker do the same thing with every other password system on your computer? Wait - they can. However, with a good password, it'll take a long time of being connected to your computer to get in. It's not as though there is unlimited bandwidth and cpu to allow instant password request/responses - only a finite number can be processed per time. So - let's imagine that it takes 1 second for password submission and response time - pretty optimistic if I remember how fast VNC is correctly. That means 60 passwords per minute right? Lets assume l33t hax0r script kiddie has more then one computer. Lets up it to 300 passwords per minute. Now - l33t hax0r doesn't know how long our password is or whether we have any special characters in it so he has to start with some number of characters and go from there right? Let's assume for the sake if the argument he starts at 3 characters (figuring no one would be stupid enough to put a 1 or 2 letter password) and tries all possible combinations. We'll assume a possibility of 100 characters (there are probably more) that can be used in the password. If you've taken your statistics course, you'll see where this is leading.
The l33t hax0r first tries (fex) "111" for the password. Then "112". Then "113". Etc etc etc. Remember, this is 3 letter passwords only (for now - he'll move on to 4 letter once he's exhausted the 3 letter).
So how many 3 letter passwords are there? There are 100^3. That's 1,000,000. Assuming 300 sumbission/responses per minute (limited by bandwidth and latency of the "attackee") we're at 333 1/3 minutes just to test the 3 character possibilities.
Now let's assume that we're semi-intelligent and have chosen to make the password to control our computer 10 characters long.
There are:
100^3 + 100^4 + 100^5 + 100^6 + 100^7 + 100^8 + 100^9 possibilities for l33t hax0r to go through before he even gets to the right number of characters and then he still has up to 100^10 passwords to try.
Guess how long that's going to take? A @#$@ long time.
SO, unless the hax0r has some special reason to attack your computer instead of a secure computer somewhere, he's going to use security holes in software instead of brute force hacking. Now, if there is a security hole in VNC that is known, you are at risk. Of course, you're at risk if there is a hole in any of the OTHER software (outlook fex) that you're running.
Secondly... with the massive number of people who will most likely be waiting to get it the SECOND it is released, you may not even be able to use VNC at school to get it anyways. I think i tried this once (or another program) just for the heck of it. Even if you can't get through to dl NS it's still kinda fun to screw around on your computer AT SCHOOL. Then again, you could connect to your computer and accidently create the exact energy pattern to form a slight magnetic field that distorts surrounding fields forming a slight ripple effect that eventually distorts the earths field and causes the charged particles from the sun that it deflects to be deflected in a slightly different angle and hit an asteroid somewhere in the asteroid belt and put a minute force on it that barely alters its solar orbit, but just enough to change its path and eventually sending it careening towards earth on the day of your wedding many years down the road. That wouldn't be very fun... not at all. NO ONE DO THIS FOR IT WILL CERTAINLY BE THE DOOM OF US ALL!!!!!
