i'm not sure about this but custom weapon models dont seem to work in co maps.

i havent had custom models in a while but after i installed them today i kept getting cl_dlls/client.dll differs from server.

and i had not gotten this before.

also is there a, or is there gonna be a thread about beta 4 approved models???

sorry if i sound stupid with this post, i havent been keeping up with ns issues.

That is the typical error message received when you try to connect to a server running a different version of a mod than the one you have installed. Make sure you know what version you are running and correlate that with the server's name....NS beta servers are asked to provide the version of the beta they are running in their title name. There is also a good chance that a server has been upgraded, but the owner has forgotten to update the title.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with models, if a server was checking for that you would receive an inconsistency error instead. Please reply back if this is the case, thank you.

Check the name; some servers haven't updated yet.

If it says "Natural Selection 3.0 b4" instead of "NS 3.0b4a", you can't connect with the latest patch installed on the front page of n-s.org.

Posts like this always pop up after a patch.

i'm using SpecOps Models Pack, it works fine.

As some1 said, its version difference, not the prob of custom models

speaking of approved models, does the consistency still check for strictly identical models? (ie. no customs at all) or does it work like in other mods where it's in the limits of the reasonable (ie. no spikes and no neon pink skulks)

I remember 1.0x with strictly identical consistency, and I hope for it to change. That specops2 pack looks sweeeeeet.

Computers can't "look" at models, all mp_consitency does is check the filesize.

Client.dll has nothing to do with custom models, but with the version of a mod.
I wont be surprised when some co loving severs switched back to b3.

they can know whether models are too big for their boxes, and I'd think they can recognize bright colors from dark colors.
