The program slowly faded out, and now server ops use the icons..but the fire is being rekindled.

as for why they were removed back then.....it's because they recruited some of the wrong people....
But yeah, it would be nice to see the NSGuides program start again. Just give them a trial then if he passes he can be an NSGuide. Don't want to repeat the same mistake as the older ones did.
EDIT : And by trial, I dod not mean written trial. Those would be too easy to fake. If anyone wants details, PM me about it.
1 of the advantages i do see is if game servers are run just for newbies, with guides present to help them understand the game.

I have seen many times when a "newb" ask for help...Many ppl will tell them ways to crash their comp.
the people who are running it are all well known in the NS community and are well respected for their playing ability and their attitude - there is no reason to assume that they will recruit idiots
haven't seen him around in a long time
Anyway I think that disclaimer is abit too much, really. Way too many of them nowadays, let me breathe already.
http://www.bownet.org/njohnson/ is the correct link. I will post the finished URL in a new thread. I probably won't finish it for a month or two due to school and other things.
