Ever since I've played NS, I've always liked playing Kharaa far more than marines. It's more fun, there's more diversity, and it's a unique experience.

Actually, I like both alot. Depends on which mood I'm in. If I'm in the mood for teamwork, I'll play alien. If I'm in the mood for just doing my job as a soldier, I'll go marine.

They're both equally fun to me.

Was wondering the same thing.

I like playing as both. It's good to know how to play one side, but it's better to knowhow both sides play.

It's ususally the marine stacking taht ends up putting me in Aliens most of the time.

But still I like both of them anyways.

In general, I enjoy marines better. There's more forgiveness for a lack of twitch-skills, and I like the level of teamwork you usually see. Furthermore, I greatly enjoy commanding, especially ns_veil.

There are some exceptions, of course. There are certain maps I'd rather be alien on, and sometimes I just feel like brutally murdering things. I'm not very good at it, but I can still own up sometimes. Being a gorge is also nice. It's better now that it's easier for gorges to get into the endgame, with the cost of Onos down and the res coming in a bit faster than before. (unless I'm just imagining that) I do kinda miss permagorging, though, which is something I never thought I'd say. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />

Marines, since there's always been something I like more in them. I propably don't like aliens (so much) because it really annoys me to die 10 times without getting even one kill. And dying to a few pistol rounds when peeking from a vent is annoying too. I prefer to play aliens but lately Ive been leaning towards marines more as the single hive spawn rate is terrible.

I say alien, the simple pleasure of going onos and letting a lone marine empty his all his ammo into you and then devouring him is unmatched by anything in any other game. Though I must say that sneaky mining is a close second. mmm...mines....

Aliens have more diversity. Diversity == Good. Even though those "decided" games get old very fast, for aliens, I prefer them still. As a marine, you can't really soar around the map, or build anything yourself. If there were vehicles or buildings you could use, then it might be another matter.

Marines, since i find them to be totally overpowered (though, I am a very good skulk tbh). If you know what you're doing, you can simply own and end up with a score like 40-5.

Marines > Aliens tbh, and it's just getting worse with combat now actually learning people how to play the marines.

Aliens pwn in combat on pubs or competive play (Well, clan members on each team,)

Marines win on NS on competive play
Aliens win on NS on pub games

"ffs stop spawn camping" belongs in CS.
"ARgggggg CHARGE!!!!!!" is more the NS equivalent.
(Possibly with some "11s" before the "!")

If I play rines, I would also tend to be the comm. There's a sort of buzz you get from Jp+shottie rushing the last hive thay you just cant get from any other game.

I usually play aliens, though recently I've been playing marines more and more (I doubt this has anything to do with beta 4a). In combat, I'll go alien if I'm doing really good as one that day. Otherwise it's marine.

In NS, I'll go alien if I feel like it, which doesn't happen too much recently (I used to be alien exclusively, but that habit appears to be gone now)... I've started to find it boring/annoying setting up defences as alien, or keeping a room... Mainly the beginning of the game is annoying for me as alien.

Once the game's really started up, and fades start popping up, and territories have been established, _then_ alien is fun for me.

I prefer Marines for the simple reason that aliens win 90% of the time.
So I like a challenge. This Version has got serious issues that need resolving but this post is about what side we prefer so I won't ramble on about them here.

I like aliens alot more as ns is probly the only game with the choise of playing as a alien lifeform. Marines is still definatly fun but playing as aliens is..differant..

The new patch deffinatly need to be looked at.

marines, because I love it when after 10 hive rushes ( and it still isen't down ) I send my HA's to the final hive and let them vaporise the Aliens.

I prefer aliens. Why? My video card really sucks, so I end up playing at about 20 fps (assuming no turrets/pg's), not nearly fast enough to be accurate in a fight. Bite-spamming is more likely to succeed than spray-n-pray, so I actually have a chance at killing things as an alien. Also, I can be helpful as a gorge on aliens, but I can't really play commander (because it just won't work out well on my computer). This has been the case since 1.04.
