Crashes On Server

Lo all,i hope you can help me with this.
I have only just started playing NS but when i join a server all is ok till i join a team,then it crashes me back to the steam servers list.
My specs are
1200mhz cpu
512 mb ram
Radeon 9000 pro gfx
Soundblaster 4.1 soundcard
Not cutting edge i know but should be ok to play NS yes?

in case this helps ne1 else my prob is sorted it is an open GL issue my game runs fine in D3D

2. so you said its an opengl issue. Have you added any special settings to your configs? If so thats the most likely cause.
3. What are the opengl settings on your graphics card in windows. That could very likely be the prob too.
4. Update your graphics card drivers. I see you have a radeon, try ati_npatch "0" and
ati_subdiv "0" . Also, set it to best performance (your grahics card) just in case. If you do this and still have probs, look in the console after you crash again and see if you get an error. Maybe youre missing a v_model (skulk one possibly) and it crashes you.
