<div class="IPBDescription">new map</div> Ok guys, I've been making NS maps in my spare time for a while now - haven't really finished any because I get bored with an idea and think up something new or better...
what I want to know is - What do you want to see in a map? What sort of place? What sort of crazy environment do you want (keeping it within the confines of the ns world of course).. what are us mappers doing wrong? what can we do better?
You tell me what you want - and I'll make it for you...and if anyone mentions a big purple monkey-dishwasher...I'll be less than happy...

Nah, I wanna see A Room with full of water and red blue lights in. LOOl
<b>nz-nexus</b> - um..yes...well...I've often wondered how ns would go with half-flooded areas...what the gameplay would be like with everyone slowed down like that...only one way to find out...
<b>Silentdeath</b> - That wouldn't be hard to model at all..would be a nice effect actually...if I go back to my ns_odlers (oxygen dependent lifeform environment - research station...a mouthful I know..) I could definately use that in the labs...
<b>Blackplague</b> - The swinging light wouldn't be that hard to fake actually..you could do it with about 10 light_spots...each pointed a fraction further..then just use a custom light fx and time it to a swinging light...don't know if it's worth it for the amount of entities it would need...
But anyway it would be very pro alien since all they can use are knifes and 1 grenade?
What I would like to see is a room with lot's water dripping from the ceiling and the drips creating a dripping sound (instead of using an ambience) and a water ring on impact or is this more for the particle zoo/hl2 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> (are you still working on the particle zoo btw <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> I havent been following the mapping forum lately)
How about like... an icy cavern thing... where the aliens start. Floor could have 1/10th the normal friction, making it a fun, but difficult, battle arena!
Also, how about a conveyor belt line... marines have a constant supply of 1 SG every 5 seconds as long as they keep the "machines" alive!
as for other theme ideas, i'd like to see something with an epic feel, like a cathedral or something big in a colony ship.
and kitchens! why aren't there any kitchens? think of the one in jurassic park 2, where the velociraptors are trying to catch the kids, the idea could translate even better to NS due to vents and areas that skulks could duck through faster than marines...
i'll try to think of some more.

You didn't actually use any scripted sequences, NS doesn't allow it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Something like that was in my mind.
