Interesting - why doesn't anyone mention that flashlight is also a poor man's anti-cloak tool? Whereever flashlight is pointed at, it tries to illuminate the target and the wall behind it. When you point it at a cloaked unit, it illuminates the wall, while cloaked unit remaining unlit, causing it to be visible against the lit wall. Learn to use flashlight in the situations where it's actually needed - like cloak spotting or lighting up the dark spots for your teammates to see. Not to mention that you can attract attention to yourself with it easily.
I use to check in places I think skulks may be hiding that they already see me. So the flashlight wont help them much but I'll get a head start (and probably surprise the skulk as few marines use the light <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Why not fix the flashlight bug? I never really understood why to others the light is stuck inside you and from your perspective it is like it should be.

No more gorges coming out of the dark spots and scaring you .

if you want dark atmospheric maps, turn the lights out. close the blinds, take off the headphones, setup a surround sound speaker system with a big assed subwoofer, and turn your monitor brightness and gamma down
well did u ever use ur flashlight in other mods? like cs ? I didn´t...
Of course I usually use my flashlight in NS to light up dark corners, walls or roofs...but just 4 a second because I always count myself on my radar... (well that also usually doesn´t work correct :/ )

The problem with making a map so dark it requires a flash light is that the Kharaa will be unable to see anything unless a rine is playing christmas tree.
edd...for the marines to see the aliens, they have to turn on their flashlight, which makes the aliens able to see them...it's either everyone sees everyone, or no one sees anything at all.
make maps darker... it only adds to gameplay and atmosphere, plus the only ppl who complain are newbies who cant c that skulk in that vent... well... its a vent man... u point at the end of it and shoot, ur bound to kill him then u newb!!! lol
