What weapons can you equip on a kestrel? I bought one for maximum courier mission efficiency, but It says I can't equip turrets on it? What's that all about?
If you right click on it then click "Show Info" (or click the little blue "i" icon, depending what your doing - market or flying around), then go to the "fitting" tab in the info window, itll tell you how many High slots, low slots, medium slots, launcher points and turret points the ship has.

Aparently Amarr are suppost to be the main combat race, but yeh rifter is a good fighting ship.
Kit it out with some 720mm howitzers and sheild booster/hardeners and some armour and its good to go. Dont forget to add the missle launcher to and to carry extra ammo.
Amarr = generally more armour and aim for turrets generally used for lasers. Caldari = missles, missles and missles (good for pvp but you cant mine etc due to lack of turret points on most ships) Gallentine = Pretty much like amarr lots of turret points, thorax has 5 also hybrid bonus. Mimitar = Generally fast with lots of firepower but have the weakest ships in the game.
If your aiming for pvp I would go with been caldari, missles are the way to go.
The rifter is a nice ship but its more of a hit and run ship, here is a pic from earlier where I won against a 85k rat without using cruise missles and torps obviously. Paranoia - I have put your cruiser skill in your hangar, and the cruiser itself will be done by now, if not, in about 20 - 30 minutes.
I would have started it last night, but i had arranged to go out with a few mates and never got chance to get everything.....
typically tho, i still have to get another 6-7mil so i can build 3 more cruisers! Your blackbird was the easier of the 4 as its a relatively low level cruiser, the other 3 are the top cruisers for their race.

Speaking of which, e3 brought new news on the upcoming sheiva patch which is effectivly a free add on allowing player buildable structures. Ill try and get the link to the information later.
In other news the EVE servers are currently goign through the 'ultra' hardware upgrade. The servers should be back up to normal downtimes on monday providing no more problems are found.
Alright I payed for it. Just waiting for my account to be reactivated. Rellix try and get all the members msn or aim or whatever so I can contact you guys for awhile.
We actualy hang out on ventrilo, thats why there is so little chat on the ingame chat window and why chat seems to jump as if you missed about 10mins of a conversation.
