    nice for 1st room...

    Now a little tip ont the ligthing, textured lighting that is.

    Look for your lights.rad in the same location as the compile tools, and open this in notepad.

    Now type the name of the light texture you used on a new line.

    Looks like light_panel02, but check to make sure <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->, and add some numbers behind it like this.

    light_panel02 246 170 85 175

    explainantion of the numbers

    light_panel02 Red, yellow, blue, brightness

    the numbers i used on red,yellow and blue is about right for the color of the texture (used photoshop to get the numbers right <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) and play arround witht the last one for bright ness.

    now save the lights.rad and remove or tune down the brightness of the ligh entities
    and recompile.

    It should look better <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Hey Kouji, I didnt quite understand as to doing WHAT with the light? Did you just want me to change its color to match with its suroundings?

    Doesnt look that bad for your first room... but you need more detailed Brushes.. Walk through some ns maps an pay attention for the Brushwork.. You can enable "gl_wireframe 1" or "gl_wireframe 2"!. Your lighting isn't bad, but there's a warm light (orange) and some cold blue... Better use one kind of lighting, warm or cold.. (see the overviews of ns_maps.. Blue are cold areas and the Orange/red/yellow / whatever is some warmer athmosphere..

    Keep up mapping <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Recoup: is neat. I like the floor. You should use a different ceiling though, it doesn't really fit with the rest of the look. And unless you plan on putting a big drop into the next room when you make more, you should get rid of that railing. Railings are annoying enough when there <i>is</i> a reason for their existence. Other than that, looks like any normal NS room. I like that you haven't gone along with the dark and gloomy fad that's taking the game by storm.

    PS: Use detail textures!
