First off- I'm not a spazout. My reason for this is because it costed VALVe $108 MILLION DOLLARS to fix a lot of stuff, hire a lot of attourney's, and generally get everything down about it.
Its things like this that screw up the world of gaming. If you think I'm a spaz, go say that to anyone at VALVe, id, Infinity Ward, Crytek, Bioware, Obsidian, Raven or countless other places.

The only reason MGS2 was delayed is cause originally arsenal gear crashed into the world trade center and they had to change it. Yes, by a disgruntled former employee, whose accusation caused their offices to be raided. Nothing turned up. Seems someone just wasn't too happy with them and wanted to stir up some trouble.

It's things like this that screw up the world -everywhere-. I guess we should just be proud that game development and the like has become a respected enough venture that we're starting to see things like this. Woohoo!
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> uh guys, its 1 playable level demo........ everyone at E3 saw it, played it, whats the big deal..<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
E3 is a trade event, and those who are present are required to have some form of valid industry credentials, whether it be development, press, education, etc. The content displayed and shown, while reported on extensively, is not meant to be in public hands outside of the event. This changes it from a private playable demo to a potential playable leak like what we've seen with UT2K3, Doom3, HL2, and any number of other games.
I mean getting hacked is one thing, it can be pretty hard to prevent stuff like that. Not saying Valve isn't at fault for what happened to them, but it's more understandable. This is just stupid, heh.
It's like the idiot with a gun killing a kung-fu master.

Ahahahahaha! That is some slick piracy right there. A glorious return to the first golden age of stealing games when you actually had to STEAL the games. Although I can't condone the theivery of the actual CD, more power to em for gettin the game. And with such smoothE (capitol E) moves too. I guess when you don't have the skill to hack into the developer's network, this is the next best thing. That move gets two thumbs (or hooks) up.
I would like to shake the hand of whoever pulled that one off. Remember kids: ME Hart told you not to COPY the games, he never said nothin bout takin em right out of the comp.

I find it very hard to believe that they stole source code. Yes, I know the article said that and I'm inclined to believe they don't know what they're talking about, and are throwing around the phrase "stealing code" because it's in vogue after the Valve theft.
Why? Think for a moment - how the hell were they showing a demo of the game off of this CD unless the game was a compiled binary? The CD held a playable demo, yes? That's not source code. Try opening hl.exe in notepad, and see what you can see (<b>don't save it!</b>); it's just as useful as what they must have stolen.
Ok, how do I know this? Well, there are only two situations in which they could have stolen what's commonly called "code". 1: MGS3 is written in Perl, or some other interpreted language (which I find very hard to believe). 2: The guys who made the demo disk decided, for some inexplicable reason, to put source code on it (which is idiocy).
So calm down, Qua. These guys got away with what amounts to a shareware demo, nothing more. Either that, or the guys who put the CD together are remarkably stupid.
They had to be ninjas. I bet they karate-chopped the case open, then set fire to the MGS booth itself while chopping off heads, and then did a flying kick out of the doors into the A-Team van.

look, the 2 guys were already in there, thus probably got to play the single level.
They can't sell it that reliably.
And if they put it up on filesharing networks, they just suck (then again, I am willing to bet that if there was a demo planed, this either was it or will now be it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
