hey i just had a thought when i was playing ns.. you know when the sc, mc, and dc chambers blow up after dying right? well i think that it would be cool if you killed it, parts of the chambers would stay there.... example

i slice and dice a dc, part of the tower is still on the floor with "ooze" all over the place...

Not possible if I'm not mistakened, atleast by model editing.
That would involve scripts/plug ins for AMX and such to "leave" another model of the floor when a certain structure "dies" out.

Not currently possible as a modelling project. This thread would be more suited to the Suggestions forum.

correct. If a modeller and a scripter works together, they could probably make this.

i dont think itll be too hard for the NS team to code in the little thing of leaving a model inplace of a dead chamber

couldn't this lead to slow down on some mashines though? ( i mean with all the extra stuff on screen) could also be used by aliens to hide behind in some cases so im afraid i don't like it.

    cheers - Rhodri

can't we just make the death animations very long and put slices of the chamber on the ground ?
  • ShinzonShinzon Join Date: 2003-07-25 Member: 18407Members
but they could have colision on them like the mines? so they would just run over them... and they could hide behind a normal chamber?

Entity counts would go through the roof, straining servers to their limits.

A nice idea, but just not practical for the HL engine.

Nope since effectivly the death animations aren't used for any buildings... they simply vanish/blow up to dust.
