Admin abuse is hurting the mod

I did read the front page, and saw that part of the problem (Economic changes) is being taken care of, but on no less than three servers today (I've only played on 5 total) the Hit Points of buildings have been modified giving one side a definate advantage.  In all three games the HP of the Humans Sentry Towers were modified to an amount far too high for any realistic damage to be done to them, all the humans had to do was build 1 Sentry and they could stop the whole team of aliens from doing a thing.  Things like this are scaring people away because some jerk admin feels like playing with values that he shouldn't have any access to.  I would suggest that all values dealing with HP/Economy/Recources should be hardcoded, and not able to be changed as easily as they are.

P.S. And by no means is this meant as a flame to anyone except the admins in question.  I think that the mod, as it is intended to be played as is awesome, and I must compliment the team on the awesome work they put into everything.

    Me, I am evil and personally beleive every value set by the playtesters and dev team should be hardcoded. When admins mess with it it ruins games. But thats just my opinion.

    I second that motion!

    NS is far too complicated a game with delicate balances to allow server admins to tweak stuff.  It's always guaranteed to throw things out of whack when they do.  This is disastrous for a new release and makes me very sad.

    Yeah, I suspect this is the reason people think the game is unbalanced. Because in some servers, it really is. Before I played on a server where marine buildings were build as soon as you pressed use on them, yet alien buildings still took a while.

    How can a patch that only servers can download and install going to help?

    I mean if these jerks make the server uneven ON PURPOSE why would they download a patch that isnt required.

    It isnt because it will not change anything on the players end, therefor they can enter games WITH or WITHOUT the patch.  

    I don't think you can force them to dl it and install can you?

    AM i right or is there a way around this to FORCE admins to use new patch.

    can you guys tell me what the name of the server or the server admin was? i think i know who they are from seeing other mods that they liked to screw up.

    This would explain a lot.  I'll report any obvious inconsistancies.  By the way, isn't there a bug that gave marines thousands of resources?

    i think scapegoat does bring up a good point, though i think the team did think of that ahead of time, and have some super secret way of doing things, right guys ?
