<div class="IPBDescription">Installing AMX</div> I have recently gotten back into playing NS after 3.0 was released for various reasons. I have owned and operated NS server ever since NS's release. Up until now I have not had any problems with third party admin modules. The company that I rent my server from now tells me AMX can not be installed with NS on a linux server. I think that is a bunch of BS and they simply don't know what they're doing so they give me that as an excuse. I'm hoping one of you can verify that it is BS for me because I really want AMX installed on my server. There aren't many plugins I want to use, in fact the only thing I want it for is to give general admin access to my team members and have helpful plugins like /unstuck available. Also things like timeleft and nextmap are sorely missed. If anyone can point me in the right direction to getting AMX setup and running smoothly on a linux server, I would greatly appreciate it. Quite frankly I'm not versed well with this and I've tried scouring the net for information but so far I've come up with zilch. Thanks in advance to anyone that replies...

As far as I know it's a standard Linux server. I have full access to it via FTP.     Another thing: The admin icon has never worked. I've got everything set correctly in the server.cfg and I have authentication turned on. But I've not yet once seen the icon. Is this a bug with linux servers and NS 3.0? Or am I just not doing something right? I remember reading somewhere that someone had to run some script to get his to work. Well anyway, any help would be appreciated.

    What the company told you about AMX is true, out of the box. It takes quite a bit of mods to get AMX and NS working all the way. Some functionality I never did get back, but it mostly works.

    Checkout modns.org. They have an amx forum that has a plugin which will fix the icon issue you reported as well as an NS2AMX module that helps get the plugins working correctly with Amx. You'll also find a working version of unstuck for both metamod and amx. It seems like the AMX dev went so far towards CS that it's necessary to strip out most of the stock plugins/modules and use all custom one's from modns.org.

    In regard to your second post, the admin icons are broken. They only work for the first round, then go away forever. To get them working you'll need mm_serverops, a metamod plugin that fixes the problem.
