Everytime I log into a server this message pops up and it also says that my map differs from server when some1 tries to enter the games that I have created. I think it might be that I installed The Specialists too but w/e I need urgent help. Thank You

gotta love the fact that there is a tech help forum clearly labled...

oh well, I would get this eventualy so here yah go:

    1) Install Steam
    2) Play HL atleast Once via Steam
    3) Install NS V3.0 Beta 1
    4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4
    5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a

Search your HDD for a folder called nsp.

if you have more than one you messed up. try again.

if you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors.

If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location.

There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers. Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life

Note: This is a file stored on my desktop because I have to use it so many times.

you're getting that error because you have an outdated version of NS. follow Thansal's guide and you'll be fine.

    /me contemplates....

yah it could use some updating (well clarification)

    works...

lets try this one: (added paths)
    <!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->1) Install Steam

    4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4 (point this at steam\steamApps\your@email\Half-Life\)
    5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a (See * at bottom)

Search your HDD for a folder called nsp.

Program Files\steam\steamApps\your@email\half-life\nsp is created automatically when you install beta1. You cannot choose the path.

If you have Steam installed to a different directory (which the 600kb installer does use a different default directory), you must then move the nsp folder to <b>your</b> half-life folder <b>before</b> you install the beta4 and beta4a(which you can direct where to install which is also your half-life folder)

If you do not have a half-life folder in your email address to move the nsp folder to, you have not updated half-life which you do by going to your games list and clicking on it to play. It then proceeds to update it and add that folder.

Not sure of what path you use but I hope this fixes your problem, or if it even is your problem.. :/

    As a side note:

Beta 1 actulay dosn't automaticly aim for that dir.

I believe it searches your HDD for the proper dir (as It has always installed to c:\games\Steam for me, and that was beta 1 and all of the betas I was in b/c of being a constie)

why it should only hit that dir for you is wierd....

Did you actualy have folders there?

I uninstalled Steam, deleted the steam folder that was in the Program Files directory, then installed steam to a different folder. When I installed NS it created all of those folders by itself without asking. :/

ech, thats probibly the fact that steam tends to be messy with its unistall (not removing alot of stuff)
