How do i use "blink"?

I know I've got this to work one time before, but everytime I actually need it it never does anything but slash.

How can I get this to work? I've asked a few times on different servers and people have just said "It's broken", but I know I've had it work once before as have a few other people I've played with.

its a device used by uhh the big black alien, i dont know there mest up names, but anyways i cant get it to work ether but i know u need 2 hives to get it

Try aiming a little high and crouch jumping while blinking. It works most effectively like this. (Someone in server last night used it that way and he was pretty good. Myself. Blink is used by the Fade... Fade is a fast hand to hand fighter, to blink you must aim up higher than middle of your screen, jumping while doing it helps too.

It is the Fade's 2 hive ability. I've heard that it helps if you jump and then hit blink.
