enjoy reading the misfortune of others!
This all took place Today. Whats sadder is that I didnt make any of it up...
If ever there was a bad day, it was today. And it was an all-day-Marathon edition.
I was woken up abruptly sometime before 9:00AM, to be told that one of my
friends was already at the Bus-stop. I quickly dismissed this as him leaving early
to buy Photographic paper, as he kept telling me he needed it. (we have Photography on tuesdays)
So I got ready, and started making myself a cup of tea. When the phone rings. Turns out its from Neill. Another College friend of mine, reminding me that our Key Skills exam is today and that I need to be there in Half-an Hour. I swiftly run out of the door, Teabag still in the cup, unmade.
Its 9:00AM now. I need to be there at 9:30. I need to catch two buses to get to college. The first one arrives at 9:15AM. I'm pretty screwed if I wait, So i choose to run as far as I can get. 1 Minute into the Sprint I begin to feel ill, (not eating or drinking this morning might have something to do with it) and then I end up swallowing a fly. This wasnt very helpfull, and the next few seconds revolves around me trying not to vomit.
I continue on, I'm starting to get pretty tired already, And I guess it shows, when a car pulls up next to me. The driver asks where I'm going. I assume he will offer me a lift, and I explain the situation. Now my parents have told me all my life never to go off with a stranger, and my first instinct was to decline his offer. I said to him "Dont worry about it, I'll catch the bus"
How wrong was I...
Nothing much happened for a while, until I spot the Bus stop sign looming up ahead. I felt like collapsing in a heap on the floor when I reached it, But I didnt wish to alarm the Lady already waiting. I spent a while catching my breath, when I spot a group of "power walkers" on the other side of the pavement. No sign of the bus yet. I decided to take a chance and power walk to the next stop rather than wait.
And So there I was, Powerwalking my way down the road, exhausted, and no doubt looking like some kind of drunken Hobo. I ignored the Un-attended Postmans Bike that lay next to a nearby fence. my mind was almost
shouting at me to take it, to stop tiring myself out and get cycling.
But I told myself that I may be desperate, but I'm not a thief.
The '463' Bus Thunders past me, I dont know how I managed to get enough strength or Energy, but I suddenly stopped my feeble Powerwalking and Start sprinting after it. I suprised myself as to how fast I was running, But alas, the Bus was already gone.
Admitting defeat, I spot a nearby Phone booth. I'm too tired to walk back home, and I'm rather sick of buses at this point. So I dial my parents. I put in the minimum amount, 30p And I'm told that the phone is in use. I press the star on the Phone to "adjust the volume" And to my suprise the phone hangs up, and swallows my change.
Its too late to go to college now. If I'm even allowed to take the exam, I wont have enough time to finish. I just hope I get a chance to retake it at another time. I keep on moving, my new goal is to get to my Nan's house. Which is almost on
the same road as the college itself. I'm so exhausted I cant walk in a straight line, I've got a headache, and my legs hurt. Two Japanese women walk past me, and one of them says something to the other in japanese as they pass me. I really wouldnt be suprised if it was something along the lines of "He looks terrible".
Enter Bus stop Number 2.
I sit down in the bus shelter, and wait. a few minutes pass and no sign of the bus. This Bus stop is just outside a High school for girls, and I notice some sort of school work on the Bus seat, contained inside a plastic sleeve. Its got
german - English words on the first page, and upon further inspection of the contents belongs to a "Kelly smith".
I ignore the "No trespassing" sign and walk to the front doors of the school. Going inside the building didnt feel right, so I left the work outside the door, where someone would find it.
I begin to head back and the "463" is at the bus stop, doors closing and driving off. I swear this is some sort of conspiracy against me. I throw my Bus pass through the air in my frustration.
Completely sick of Bus stops, I ignore all future ones and carry on walking, until I arrive in Wallington High street. I need a drink, I'm completely dehydrated. I go inside Woolworths and spot the Vending machine. The Sound speaker above
is playing the song "Dont worry, Be happy" I'm pretty sure someone is doing this to me on purpose now.
Anyway, I purchase my "fitness water" and leave the shop, putting a pound into the Donation box of the man who stands outside every day. (its for Epilepsy)
Nothing much happened after this, apart from almost being run over, sharing my fitness water with a dog, and a strange man who kept twitching violently, who I sensibly crossed the road to avoid.
I arrived to my Nans house, explained this entire story in a few short sentances, And got my hands on a cup of tea. (At last) I checked the clock which read "10:30AM" my entire running spree was obviously in vain.
In the end, Today was so crappy I felt compelled to write it down.
Every story should have some kind of moral to it, so...
1: Dont leave the house, stuff like this happens to you every day.
2: Dont think you can outrun buses.
3: Always wear a watch
4: wear pants in public.
The End.

OMG, but it's 20 points towards your university application... 20 points! That's like, an E at A-level!!!11one
If you are Late, do not try and move to a further bus stop, b/c the bus WILL pass you, and you will NOT make it on time.
Just sit in the bus stop, atleast then when it never comes (b/c it will NOT) you will still be fealing perfectly fine
