An onos question.

How to use charge properly.
Well to anyone who finds charge an effective attack, or devs/pts: What is the proper way to use charge as an onos? I find myself using the horn attack most often as an onos, because for some reason I can't seem to make charge work well for me. I think the reason is probably that I'm not giving enough time to pick up speed, but I wanted to make sure...

All you do to use it is just click once, and run into bad guys. You'll notice your energy bar will be draining when active. Also, it wont kill in one hit, u gotta keep running into them.
Think it is 10 dmg x the number of times u touch the marines.

have you done any damage to structures with it?

Personally... I think the Onos is kinda useless... Primal Scream really does'nt give that noticable of a boost... Charge does'nt do enough damage in comparison to Gore... Paralyze just keeps Marines from running, something they tend to not do... Gore is pretty powerful. BUT:

When people see a Onos, EVERYONE ALWAYS aims for it. It's like a giant: 'Shoot me' sign. The result: Dead in 30 seconds or less.

My conclusion? If you get 3 hives, get a Fade and use Bile Bomb... It's really the only effective weapon agenst Marine bases... =( Though Aliens themselves are pretty much helpless agenst the Marines unless their commander is a idiot.

Primal Scream is a huge boost. It's something like 30% to damage, attack speed, movement, and energy regen. And the fact everyone shoots the Onos is just an argument to have buddies attack with you (and get redemption).

If you want to play seriously with an onos, a support gorge (preferably with adrenaline and regeneration) is a must. Just run in, kill things, then run back out to get healed. Using this tactic you multiply many times over the total damage dealt to the enemy, and not to mention your own rate of survival. Suicide rushes just aren't viable with the onos.

    Zcaliber you are dead wrong.

Bigwig makes an excellent point and I'll expand it some more. If you get a gorge to build DCs in a cluster, onos can recover fast from attacking marine bases. With primal scream and waiting 5 secs to charge will allow you to take currents and players in 1-5 secs.

Cloaking is a nice tool for camping outside their base.
Although adrenilein is prefered, I'd rather have celerity to haul ### after attacking thier base.
Carapace is a must. Once the armor of an onos is gone, they get chopped up fast by HMGS.

Its easy, look at the white cercels, there are names by them, then look if there is a "hive" in the name and then look if it has been already build. If its not so, walk to this hive and look for a transparent hive and build it

Onos is propably in its best at defence. I made about 30 kills with one Onos with armor upgrade, cloacking and regeneration. Charge, back to hive to heal, charge, back to hive, charge, back to hive, charge...........

Well i've done once 32/2 scores with onos if anyone cares...tactic was simply 3 dc outside to marine base wich i at beggining of game infected with parasites.then i just used hit'n' run tactic...and what comes to adrenaline boost it is HUGE help...adds more speed and much more nice thingys + damage of course. So my point is that you can destroy with one onos and 3dc outside that marine base 5peoples marine base...if that's useless then evrything is

I want to repeat a question that was stated near the start of this topic.

I have this same question too.

Does Charge do ANY damage at all to the marine buildings? I've tested Charge in a lan game and I can't seem to hurt them one bit.

Also I agree with BigWig. The Onos is a great Kharaa class. Primal Scream helps a lot even more so with another Onos nearby. I've used paralyze so many times and its been very good to me (but its pretty hard to hit with). I love paralyzing marines when they are 50% off the ladder and then biting their heads off so fun.

Onos best upgrades that I have seen = Redemption, Adrenaline, Cloak

I don't think charge does any damage to buildings. AN onos best friends is a lurker with umbra, not a gorge. Get adreline, and carapace then tell your lurker buddy to run into the marine base and umbra. You can then run in and it' kinda like god mode. Bullets do next to no damage. Just tell the lerk to keep umbra and you can take out the base single handly. I ussauly take out about a dozen turrets before having to heal(less than 200hp) with this combo. Only about 6 turrents if there are hmgs guarding there base.
