<div class="IPBDescription">Read me now!</div>Heya guys,
If you are having problems finding NS servers with the Half-Life In-Game Server Browser, here are some alternate ways to find games:
<a href="http://www.gamespyarcade.com/features/launch.asp?svcname=halflife" target="_blank">Gamespy Arcade</a> - FREE - very easy to use (sort of web-based, has chat rooms, and is a tiny download)
<a href="http://www.gamespy3d.com" target="_blank">Gamespy3d</a> - FREE - for more hardcore players, but a great one (full client, small download, very customizable)
<a href="http://www.udpsoft.com/eye/" target="_blank">All-Seeing Eye</a> - Shareware (21 day, then very cheap price) - A great client, with an awesome support system and great automatic updates (probably the fastest server refreshes of any browser too).
<a href="http://www.gametiger.com" target="_blank">Gametiger</a> - FREE - totally web-based - Does not get you pings, but does give you near instantaneous server lists and has a game launcher.
<a href="http://www.serverspy.net" target="_blank">Serverspy.net</a> - FREE - web-based with a small optional tool called 'GameLauncher'. A great and fast tool. If used in conjunction with Gametiger makes a perfect web-based suite.

Overall it's a great program and well worth the money as it supports virtually every game you can think of.
<a href="http://www.serverquery.com" target="_blank">server query</a> is a open source browser, its pretty lightweight and it supports a bunch of games
a little bit rough around the edges, but i like it, and if you want to add features just download the source and hack away <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
[edit] forgot the url <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
Use ase it finds lots of NS servers ! <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
It's a handy plugin for mirc. Give it a shot if you use mirc often. It's just been updated to include ns.
That may very well be true, but if you're using mIRC, like 75% of all other IRC goers, you'll want to download/install SuperIP from <a href='http://www.cowboyscripts.org' target='_blank'>http://www.cowboyscripts.org</a> . It's fast, keeps a nice list of favorites for your pinging pleasure, and best of all, it actively "catches" other SuperIP messages from all channels you are currently in, to join your buddies. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Please turn off the server announcing!! I don't care where you are playing!!

For that matter, no matter what room I click on, it sends me to the frontline force ones. Even the CS room, and I have CS:Retail installed. And I dont even play front line force... lol (just comes with CS:retail)
And the tab on that top that you can also select games with doesnt have NS on it.
I could however play NS fine (and have been, but now ingame browser has completely stoped working for) with the ingame browser.
Like this:
<a href='http://www.gametiger.net/search?map=ns_&game=all&submit=++search++' target='_blank'>http://www.gametiger.net/search?map=ns_&ga...bmit=++search++</a>
Works like a chram. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
*note* - nevermind, I've worked my way around the problem. But its really annoying that nothing works properly for CS:Retail
everytime i try to update and look for NS servers in HL,
(all the options selected in filter, ie, game NS,)
it still browses through like 30,000 servers, which sucks and takes a long time
and most of em are CS, so when im done like 2000 servers, i might only have 5 NS servers show up

the hl master server lists are getting verry buggy (they never work)
and it seems that when hl goes to the backup servers, the bacup send all servers and doesnt filter for only ns
damn game list servers aint working ( WHATS UP VALVE and WON?)
if the server lists are working though, finding all ns servers only takes like 16 seconds

XQF is Quake/QuakeWorld/Quake2/Quake3 server browser and launcher for Unix/X11. It's a front-end to QStat, a program by Steve Jankowski. XQF uses the GTK+ toolkit.
Supports Descent 3, Half-Life, Heretic 2, Hexen 2, HexenWorld, Kingpin, Quake, QuakeWorld, Quake2, Quake3: Arena, Rune, Sin, Soldier of Fortune, Soldier of Fortune 2, Tribes 2, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2003, Voyager Elite Force, Wolfenstein (RTCW), Generic Gamspy games
<a href='http://www.linuxgames.com/xqf/' target='_blank'>http://www.linuxgames.com/xqf/</a>
But still, it is the best program I've ever used.
