How Do You Deal With Morons?

I seem to be cursed with idiots whenever I get in the chair these days. Every other game, I get rambos who want to rush hive, so they keep going there, and dying, and nobody builds anything at the hive we have, or follows any of my waypoints. I'm getting sick of it. A few days ago, I had somebody start making cracks about my sexuality just because I didn't feel like rushing the hive. Fed up with people not listening, insulting me, and trying to vote me out of the chair, I recycled base. And just a few minutes ago, it happened again. It seems like there are idiots that just follow me around from server to server. I'm probably banned from [HK]Texas now, but I'm beyond caring, because it seems to happen whenever I'm in the chair there. Nobody really seems to care that <i>we're winning</i> they just get **** off that I'm not doing it their way and start screwing up the game. So, I screw up their game.

What do you do when you're besieged by the stupid?

I'll never understand why this happens, either. Most places I play, people are just fine with me. I actually have plenty of friends. But for some reason, whenever I'm in the chair, the whole damn server decides I am worthy only of their most hateful scorn and disregard. I can't bribe them to do what I need them to if I offer them freaking jetpacks. Isn't that supposed to fix everything? Jetpacks are like candy for idiot marines when anybody else is in the chair. Why do <i>I</i> always get the crap teams?

If you comm on random servers, you get people who don't like your tactics.

If you recycle base, you get dispised on the server.

Don't recycle base, it just pisses every one off (both teams).

If you don't like them, just leave, there are a few hundred other servers out there.

remember kids dont sell base ever on a real server you will be BANNED by the admins they dont like it
bistro HK server is a play to WIN server you said you wanted to do it the "FUN" way no one on that server wanted to do it the fun way they just plan wanted to win
the admins reset the map after you killed the round by selling base
dude i have never sold a base. dont break the server rulles and you wont be banned

Yeah, it's play to win. We were doing fine. The problem is we were about to lose our advantage, because they were coming for Sub. When people try to eject because I'm trying to get them to stop being idiots and listen, that's a problem. You act like the whole team was with you, but they weren't. There were two, maybe three people there, and everybody else was ramboing off doing something else entirely. I know, because I was watching.

As for the other time this happened, I don't really care what's going on. I don't put up with homophobes ruining my game.

public NS can be very fun, but it often isn't. Try not to let these people upset you. If you aren't having fun in a pub, leave and find another. That's what I do.

Yeah I've been ejected many times before just because some guy says hey lets eject the commander also this happens too when we do victory eject commander <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /> . What is it like 1/4 people need to click on eject for an eject? Because it seems like only like 3 people vote eject and commander has been ejected. I haven't got many of those marines who don't follow orders luckly for me. Also I have friends on the team that helps talk players into doing what I tell them to do.

I try favoritism towards the nice players, try to group them all in squad five so I recognize them quickly and generally just spam the waypoint over and over when people don't at all follow orders.

On one occasion I repetedly dropped commchairs on a complete and total moron(voice and text spamming ~10 year old that completely dissobeyed any orders and insisted that I should give him a shotgun(an 1.04 shotgun) and that I should turret spam the heck out of marine spawn), best res I ever spent.

Please tell me why anyone would want to win a game without having any fun whatsoever? Arent Games made for just that? enjoyment? Fun?
When I win a game with hardly any effort, I'm not having fun. So winning that round feels empty, and pointless. It just becomes a chore.
Like Washing the dishes.

Anyway, If your entire team consists of idiots. leave the server. Its not like there isnt choice.

It happens all over the place, its mainly the reason i dont play much of classic anymore. But when i do and that stuff happens, i leave the server, simple as that.

I like winning, but I perfer to garner some enjoyment out of the process.

Edit: As for dealing with morons, I agree with the previous suggestion of fire. Plus salt. Lots of salt.

As for dealing with morons, coms need a kill button (or for the politically correct, it just "phases" the insubordinate marine back to the ship so a replacement can take his place)

Like many people are saying, public servers are no fun altough what I suggest is try to find a server with a good community, good admins and stick with it. In time people will know you, start friends and you wont have to worry about them being idiots.
