yea um when u dont put lights on ur map and when u compile the map is already bright by itself until u put a light entity well.....when i started to put lights nothing changed the all brightness was still there so....how do i disable it?

Could be 3 problems:<ul><li>you have leaks and vis and rad compile wont do anything even if you have them selected, but the bsp is still created.</li><li>your light entity is touching the void (outside of the map, same a leak but now you have misplased the entity.</li><li>you dont have rad selected in your compile window <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--></li></ul>The first two would show LEAK LEAK LEAK error somewhere in your compile log...

and yes i want it darker as in i want darkspots that light cant reach! and i couldnt find func gamma and fade doesnt work -.-..
it seems that the my light entities are being ignored since i made a test map which is just a box with light and the box was all bright. so i dont think theres anything wrong with my map but somehting else......................

key: Default Light level. The standart value with a new map is 0 though, but you could check this one out...

func_gamma or something like that in the entity list.
go to the properties of the light entity and look for "fade" and that should darken it a bit =)
