Imagine saving for an onos/fade but only having a few res nodes. And having to wait an extra 5 minutes or w/e just to get a single upgrade after already spending 75 or 50 on the evolve itself. 95 res just for a 3 hive onos is an INCREDIBLY long time to wait.

If you're skulk and get carapace (spending 10 res) would be the same as spending 5 times carapace as skulk

This would make the alien res flow incredibly insane...
would unbalance too much the game..

He isn't, I believe, refering to allowing you to use it to keep your lifeform when you respawn if that is your fear.
And think about it, carpace onos sucks(currently), so if you get that as a skulk, thats 10 res wasted that you'll have to spend later(again) if you want it.
Same thing with other abilities like celerity, silence, and adren. Most lifeforms are better, or a tleast different players are better with different upgrades for different lifeforms, so you'd have to pay to change. This is the best way to make upgrades useful on a skulk I've seen though, thats for sure...
Don't like this idea in the slightest. It just makes it more expensive to get upgrades for skulks, even if they do get to keep them(and they'd have to re-upgrade when they evolve). Getting upgrades would set back res hoarding significantly. It's also a huge nerf to Onoses and Fades, who don't die very often but would still have to spend 5 times as much for each upgrade.
I think we should be doing just the opposite; make upgrades free and leave it so you have to re-evolve them, possibly with a shorter gest time. The upgrade cost only really affects skulks, to all the other life forms it's trivial for the benefit. Skulks don't take upgrades very often anymore, especially in low res flow games, and that's the main reason why they're so weak now.
nope.. if you want to play that way .. go and play in combat mode. Thats quite next to what you want.
The only thing what should be fixed at all cost is the team / res balance, so a small alien team gets lower res, a big one more res. Just try out, play on a 2 vs 2 or sth else under 6 vs 6 .. alien will rule most of game. then play a 10 vs 10 .. alien will suck.

I know this probably won't ever be implemented but I like
to know what other people think.
Hability to change upgrades
eg:
Skulk makes carapace (2 res)
Skulk changes his mind and makes redemption (for what? 2 res)
Skulk OMG i missed! makes regen (2 res)
I think changing the upgrade losing the one before if is from the same chamber seems interesting, think this will allow more flexible aliens
like "OMG too much HAs, Ill go adren for stomping them all and u gore them!"
