A co_ upgrade method I use.
So, I have to be pretty bored to bother posting about co_ at all, but believe it or not, I do actually play it. And there's one thing that makes it very worth it for me. The bomber lerk is basically a VERY fun way of doing things which, IME, also helps the team a bunch. I'm posting it here to see if anybody else plays this way, and to ask people who actually know these things whether it seems as good an idea as I think it is.
Basically, you play the whole game in full rage mode. That's what co_ is for, right? Toss stealth out the window, and bite the pure crap out of things. Your first level goes to leap, (which makes the no stealth approach much easier) and the second and third can be for either third ability or lerk, whichever you feel is going to get you both of them faster. If the team needs it, you go through gorge and heal the hive, and if they really need it, you umbra the hive a bit after you're lerk. Once you're back in the fray, your objective is simple: hit the chair. All you need to do this is primal scream, but it's a good idea to pick up adrenaline as well. Sometimes I get it before I take lerk, even.
This is noticeably different from how you're supposed to play the lerk. The lerk is a support alien which is supposed to hang back for cover and area denial. Forget that crap with this model. When you spawn in, press 3, then 4. Fly to MS, scream yourself to the chair, q to your umbra, and then bite until you die. Kill any welders before you do anything with the chair itself. When you can, get the other movement upgrades. Celerity makes it more likely you'll actually get there, and silence means you'll be able to get many hits in before you're caught if there are other aliens at MS distracting the opposition.
Playing against the role of the lerk this way might seem foolish, but I find it actually works to some extent. On my better runs, I've brought the chair from full to 1/4 in one go all by myself, and because you're very likely to take out any welders before you die, the damage the rest of your team does is more permanent.
If you're wondering why I call it the bomber lerk by the way, play it on co_kestrel a few times. That window is a godsend unless it's getting nade spammed.
