How many people are actually replacing their devour sprites? Jesus, where do you people draw the line? Is there any sense of fair play left? It's not hard. Practice. Aim low. Why should I have to play against cheats?
Swift... he meant get a crosshair for devour. Changing your devour sprite wouldn't help you devour at all.... please... don't spread ignorance, we already have enough of it about scripts.
its skill sand pratice my tip is to croch (if possible ) and imagn teh rough centry of screen and munch its got nothig to do really about aim at feet arms or what ever its about pratice! (ok there are seom tips but htehre you go ) get rcbot and eat them!

It simply doesn't have a crosshair like most melee attacks, but unlike some it doesn't have a centered horn with default models.
Even in CAL rules matches with mp_consistency 1 you can use devour crosshairs.
If you've ever looked at an onos when you're waiting to respawn, and he has gore selected, you'll see a crosshair right at the tip of the horn. That crosshair is where you need to aim in order to devour something. If you've played CS (especially scoutzknivez) and NS long enough, you'll get a small skill called "Crosshair Prediction". Basically, when you have no crosshair, this skill kicks in and you get a general idea of where the crosshair is. The crosshair is always in the center of the screen. So yes, the general idea is to aim low, and get the middle of the screen locked onto the marine.
If you stop and stare at a wall as a marine and switch between your pistold and LMG, you'll notice that the center 'dot' is in the exact same spot for both. This also applies to anythnig with a crosshair: spit, parasite, etc. So you should already be familiar with where the crosshair is.
this appies to gore as well: you'll need to aim a bit lower than what you're used to.
When the marine is crouched, you will have to aim even lower, or crouch yourself.

i dont use it... i play fair, without raising gamma, crosshairs on non-crosshair weapons etc... its amazing how many ppl call themselves veterans by turning gamma up...
off-topic; today a noob said that this was not an exploit or cheating, then he got a speed hak for onos (onos ran as fast as lerk flapping its wings like crazy!!!) yet he stills said he was not cheating, so i got admin and asked him to bann him, but admin needed proof, so i told him to find da onos... when he saw onos coming down corridor like a jet fighter, he was banned... now if u cheat, u cheat... if u raise gamma, u cheat... if u use this crosshair thing for devour, still cheating in my books... dev team would have given u a cross-hair if u were ment to get one...
rasieing gamm aalows u to look in very dark places and c anything from skulks to other rines.... raiseing gamma also allows u to c cloaked aliens and structures... iv tryed it once with a friend on an empty server and u CAN c them with gamma turn up... thus y its a cheat...

I crouch and look at people when I devour, just practice with a friend on a LAN in combat
I would'nt change anything in ns configs or crossair if nobody did it...NOBODY DESERVES TO BE BETTER THAN ME!!! well,
I fear that at the point of my experience and skill, the only thing that could make me better, is more tweaks and a better config.
If nothing could be changed in ns, we would see a lot less owning players. I can tell exactly the name of my opponent after either shooting all my lmg bullets and not killing or bitting a marine 6 times and not seeing him dying.
It seems better players have more of a magical evading even when moving in a strait line, its all the configs.
