<div class="IPBDescription">(CO)</div> Hi,
I ask a question as to when u get a HMG in CO or a GL, why dont you keep the Shotgun? As when I get mines and a welder I have both and must scroll to waht one I would like.
I think u should be able to buy all 3 weapons and be able to use them all, its costs ability points, where does the shooty go when I buy a HMG? Just adds a bit more fun, as an alien I can have more variety of attacks to use, I Find playing aliens is more fun at present, lots faster, celerity thankyou <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> Chomp Chomp.

Anyway where are you going to keep the SG? your holster is only big enough for a pistol and you belt only has enough spaces for a mine and welder
And because its the reason for most stuff in NS im going to say it

Having one Marine lugging around up to four primary weapons would be a bit stupid... how would they carry them all? Much less the ammo for them, without their legs snapping like twigs? Or bring them to bear in a timely fashion without getting tangled?
The short version is, it's a design decision. Each Marine is intended to fill a niche based on the weapon with which (s)he is armed. Even in Combat mode.

Funny how u say where this wepon is to be held, tell me where is the Mine that u get in an upgrade stored? Ive seen people with this upgrade and I cannot see it on them... maybe its on there back, I just didnt see it.
Same as welder, wheres welder, cat packs just drop from sky when u get a kill...
I dont think the issue is where a marine will hold this weapon, its just people think as one post says, that for some reason it will make them stronger. If you are worried for the amount of ammo.. what does resupply do? Subtract ammo does it...
either way, u have bought it u should keep it I thinks anyways, same old attacks, either one or the other, not multiple, boring , boring, boring. People need to wake up and try and get some diversity in this game.
makes me laugh as to 'where is this shooty to be kept... have any of u guys played other games before, and seen how they carry 10+ weapons...'
And tell me, the gorge keeps his webs in his front legs I spose... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
And I have spare JP fuel sitting in my pockets................................
If u want realism in the game, youd better dump the aliens cause they arnt real. And a 5 ton 4 legged fat thing that can run faster than marines, and stomp the ground and stop anything in its tracks, and eat a jper 10 feet above them in one gulp..... as well as a fade that can fly, but has invisble wings.. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
All of your equipment is carried on you at all times. If you want this to look more realistic, might as well just create a new player model with an enlarged pack on his back, which would end up reminding you a LOT of real military forces.
Catalyst packs drop from the sky like medpacks because they're fabricated above you by nanites.
The infested nanites, bacterium, and other parasites are capable of fabricating webs within a gorge's body, as well as the structures (remember, a structure doesn't come out fully built when it's first placed, that's a graphics thing).
Jetpack fuel is constantly charged by a constantly recharging cell within the jetpack (if I had to fancy a guess, I would guess nanites).
The game is supposed to be realistic somewhat by the logic of the physics and game workings. Nanites are a catch-all object collection for anything the game can't explain (medpacks falling from the sky and automatically deploying on a marine are there for game balance, not realism).
The game strives to be realistic without being stupid. By the way, if you want diversity in CO maps, you can keep your shotgun and spend the upgrade somewhere else.
(By the way, Onos can run faster than marines... so? Rhinos and elephants can run much, much faster than humans)

it's easy, all weapons are stocked within nanite-powered compartments, though these compartments are using replicating nanites (<a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/manual/front_nanotech.html' target='_blank'>manual</a>) so have to be used sparsely and cannot hold too much weaponry in order to ensure safety of the marine.
Jetpacks: The power source is a rechargeable chemical catalyst battery, that spins the ram jets and creates two columns of super-heated air. The battery can recharge with the tiniest jolt from the command network ? a fast process, but the marine must land to initiate it. (cf. <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/manual/weapons_jetpack.html' target='_blank'>manual</a>)
As for gorges, the webs are spun similarily to spiders and are thrown out with their mouth.
There are a few games where the weapons are actually visible. Splinter Cell comes to mind, with the pistol on a thigh holster and his SC-20K on his back and a number of pockets for all the necessary equip. I'm sure other games are like this as well.
Lol, dual HMG's... wait...
*shudders as he envisions a 10 onos rush being stopped by ONE man with dual lvl 3 HMG's.. and an HA*
oooh, yeah...
2 words "Hambone mode"

Wow, a sensible post <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> wd.
Normal e.high has a good idea, maybe its not just having all 3 selectable, but having you can change it on death, or something of the likes.
Some people post constructive feedback, others post dribble, what cat do you come under? or theres just the 2 word person that posts spam all the time.
Instead of been critical of why this cant be so, how about posting ways of making it possible to have a selection or of the likes.
Diversity in games wins everytime.
I dont see why the GL could not be changed back in any weapon / tool logicaly as every equipment you have is build by nanites.. if they can use the SG matter to create a GL why not the other way round.
Armmo is created out of the air anyway so you dont carry more than the actual load i d say <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Only obstacle i can think of = you need energy for that process.
So if you define the points to spend in co as "energy boost needed by the nanites to do the work" you could explain the impossibility to transform the GL back.
But a SG and GL marine would be far to overpowered i think. _>
I think the better solution for the mentioned prob is to tell the pub players NOT to go GL when theres already 2 around and NOT to go GL when theres 80% fades or bigger around.
I hate it like hell when i go GL (as first one in the team) and because of the sudden kills i get the next 5 ppl leveling go GL as well. Thats just nonsense as many alien will stop skulking / lerking anyway with 1 or 2 GL around.
