Co Map Sizes

<div class="IPBDescription">how big is too big?</div> ive been mapping co_outpost for about 3-4 months and am nearly completed, but its taking up a quater of the allowed space and takes about 30 seconds for a rine to get from ms to hive, is this gonna be too big? and if so whats a gud size for a co map do u rekon?

    Personally, my biggest problem with the official co maps is that they're too small - it makes spawn camping too easy, and it gives the aliens an advantage because they're faster. I'm sure plenty of people will disagree with me, but IMHO, bigger co maps are better (within reason).. my co map will likely have a ~30 second jog time as well.

    Most of the official combat maps vary between 20 to 30 seconds for the jogtime for a marine, with some routes being quicker than others.

    Keep in mind that the official time limit for a combat map is 10mins, and if the map is too big it slows down the marine assaults and reduces their chances of being able to wear down and destroy the hive. You will have to keep this in mind until the time limit can get overriden by the mapper.

    The map I'm trying to get official, co_poseidon, takes 35 seconds for both of its routes. Some of the playtesters mentioned that the additional 5 seconds was crucial, and rather than argue over 5 seconds I added in a weldable phasegate to help cut down on the travel times.
