I think that the game is unbalanced in favor of marines. The grenade launchers are ridiculous they throw like five at a time and do mass amounts of damage taking out offensive and defensive alien towers like they were nothing. Aliens have no suck weapon even close to doing that much damage. Offensive towers suck compared to turrets. Though it is very possible to take out a group a turrets with skulks you just die a lot. You just run circles around the turrets and bite the hell out of them. I dont thinks you should be worrying about you K:D ration in this game seeing how its a fps startegy game it doesnt matter howmay times you die or how many guys you kill if you get the job done. The siege cannons are lame. They have huge range and take out structures in a single blow through walls. Its like having a wall hack. The marines can just keep creeping with turrets and siege cannons towards a hive and take it out eaisly. This game is still a very good game and the pros out weigh the cons it just gets a little frustrating sometimes when i get nade spammed forever and a day. I cant wait for the patch to come out and make this game even better. When is it comming out any ways. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me whine.

    The teams would be somewhat even if the aliens all knew what they were doing. If you know how to work in groups good as aliens, considering you don't have a commander. You kind of need to do independent group work. Yeah, I kind of agree the grenade launcher is annoying. If you stick like 3 Defense things up near your offense chambers, they'll take a beating. And using webs to keep the marines at a safe distance is good until they get a welder in there, which is why you should work in groups, one build, and another a defender of the builder or whatever. Works good when I play with friends.

    I disagree with you completely. Some things have to be strong, and some things have to be weak. The Kharaa Offensive chambers are not there to stop the Marines; they are there to slow them. If the Kharaa have 3 hives and Onos', the Marines need grenade launchers and siege turrets if they want to have a chance to survive. I think many people like you are ranting and raving that it's unbalanced because they do not know how to effectively play the Kharaa. The End.

    So far today. I've played as an alien, and the teams have always shifted to everyone going to marines. 9 vs 4, and it eventually turned into 11 vs 3 somehow. Maybe people find aliens a bit more complex to play than the marines?

    I don't understand how people keep complaining about these _exact_ same problems when they know that the server patch with locked resources will rebalance everything.

    You talk about grenade launchers. In a real game, without edited resources, and the nozzles are split between both teams, the marines will not beable to afford GL after GL. Most likely it will be one guy with a GL and a normal MG marine walking together, or maybe just a GL by himself. Just take the GL out with a skulk...it is very easy. Just wait until hes reloading then chomp him to death. Then camp the GL for awhile, making sure no one picks it up. If they do, just drop down on their heads and chomp away. It is very simple, and works.

    Offensive towers are cheaper. You can build lots of them cheaply, and backed with enough defense chambers, they aren't that easy to take out, unless you dispatch them from out of range. I see too many alien builders building towers all the way down the hall, when they don't even shoot anyone farther away than half the length of the room. Proper placement, and proper reinforcement with Defense chambers, and units, the offensive towers become a formidable foe.

    Turrets are a resource issue as well. They are too expensive to build more than say 3 of them in a room, in a proper game. An Onos with level 3 redemption, level 3 cloaking, and level 3 adrenalin can sit behind the corner of the turret room, do a primal scream, then run in and take out at least 2 of those turrets before being snatched back to the hive to heal. Its not that difficult. The problem right now is the edited resources, where the marines have enough money to build 15 turrets in your 3rd hive room. When this is fixed, they wont.

    I agree with you on the K:D ratio. I don't know why the aliens display it.

    Siege cannons can be lame, but they are there. They are also expensive, and once the resources are locked you wont see them being built that often, and if they are, you wont see them backed up by more than 3 normal turrets. In which case, just Onos them. Easy.


    It all depends on locking the resources.
