    Kester, make sure you dont stick to the NS2 wad too much, I know it looks cool but it lacks variety sometimes. I wouldnt stick to one textureset (the grey) but instead use a varity of different textures and somehow make them all have the same theme.

    Just a thought.

    that area is pretty much finished, but the two exits at the bottom on either side, are gonna go to the team join entrances, i havent even started them.

    When you do please use jpg @ 70% compresion

    - better quality then gif (less grainy)

    I like the dark feeling the RR has, are these photoshop/paintshop repeared (brightness fixed?) if so it could be to dark for some players.

    I never have a problem with maps being to dark, but it seems that some players running the same map have very dark vision even when they crank up the gamma of monitor and game. Just something to keep in mind <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    yeah there gamma fixed but it shudnt be too much of a problem, im only using a gamma ramp of 1.25

    Progress is coming along quite well, ive finished the rr (well finished for now, theres more bits i wanna add, but ill do that later)

    most of the layout is now finished, and what isnt, i've got pretty gud ideas for (r_speeds willing)

    Still haven't touched the hive yet, gonna leave that till last, as i wanna put alot of work into it.

    I rekon im about 75% complete now so hopefully my estimate of the end of the month is looking do-able

    i need to sleep now, so ill post some screens tomorrow evening

    i really like it, but i think you should include a bit of machinery and/or computers. Right now, all rooms and passages look like theyre meant to go somewhere important, but no pics shows that places, if you understand what i mean.

    I like it. It's grey, thats right, but it looks real. Yeah, I will download this map.     The part of the map with the yellow cristalls looks good too,... the map needs a little bit mor color... but not to many,... however... a little bit more color but not hippi-style ^^

    thanks for the feedback =] hopefully it'll be ready for d/l in about a week, as its only the hive need doing but i have big plans for it so it might take a while, alot of vertex manipulation over the next week methinks

    the chairs are a model yeah, its nsp/models/chair1.mdl (i think) i havent got hammer open at the moment so i cant check

    I added some more to the map and ive got the nite off work, so hopefully im gonna finish the room im working on now, soon, then move on to the hive, asap.

    Then ive got a bit of fine tuning to do, i was a bit over zealous with my entities, so i need to cut down on a bout another 50 of them =[ but im aiming for the weekend, to get a release

    I think that those crystal lights are one helluva invention on mapping, but they don´t fit on alien infestation. It would be ok that in a cave, there would be glowing space-minerals, but not in infestation.. _NO_

    wow dude, i just visited the mapping forum for the first time in like ages and noticed your map and its amazing, i love the grey metallic outpost feel , really dark and spooky imo. can you give us a pic of the over view or minimap of sorts ?

    i kinda gave up on outpost as i cam across max_map_clipnodes which i fixed then came across max_max_faces.

    But i decided to give it another go and fixed the errors.

    Almost everything is in place so hopefully soon (i kno ive said this time and time again) i'll be able to release =]

    I didn't see them earlier, either, but now I can see them! Looks great. You have succesfully kept the same theme without repeating too much. Only thing that worries me is the darkness. However I don't think it'll be a big problem since it usually cheats your eyes when you look at shots posted here. I trust you have been thinking the same thing and will do what ever feels right to you.     This map looks incredible. VEry unique conveyer-belt type set up with those crates. I love the lighting. Looks great. The canyon visible beyond is cool too.. but you know the alien movies, right? What if when you got near the window, you could here howling wind and hail pounding against the glass?

    ive really pushed the map to its limits tho, i keep coming across MAP_MAX errors every time i fix 1

    As soon as i have a complete playable map tho im going to go over it all fine tuning it, reducing the number of ents, and the texture usage (currently at 5mb)
