So all your programs close spontaniously when you right click?

Virus scan?

I was not specific enough.
If you right-click a shortcut or program or use file in any program.

I'd use virus scan if the virus scan did not crash my computer when I try to use it.
If that virus scan happened to run, it would come up with a security warning about that very same virus scan program.
It is called McAfee.

THIS COMPUTER IS GOING TO F-ING HELL
If I owned it, i would reformat it right now.

Ok, your probably going to have to format before you can even accurately assess the damage here. If your virus scan crashes without running that is generally a VERY bad sign, unless you happen to be able to hunt down viruses by hand. Unless you are able to run an online virus scan, you might as well disconnet your computer from the internet right now, just to make sure that nothing else comes in while you can't scan for it. (I mean AFTER you get the advice you need )

My virus scan crashes because it is made by McAfee.
It doesn't work on ANY computer.

Teh hell with it, I am running system restore.

Online virus scan, keep in mind, this is the worst possible way to scan for viruses.

System restore made it worse.

How?

It wasted my time.

I bet online scan will get me 10 viruses in less than a minute.

But even so, it won't repair the damage the virii have already caused. After the scan is compleate, disconect the internet and reinstall windows. (that is, assuming you still aren't willing to format)

Boot up the computer into DOS

Well there's the problem. You're running KaZaA, no doubt you're infested. Is it her computer? If not, format and punch her. Unless she knows anything about computers, she shouldn't get say in this.

1. Buy cheap azz new hard drive
2. Save your sisters songs and virusy software to new harddrive
3. Format old harddrive
4. Virus scan new harddrive
5. Delete viruses
6. Reinstall everything, and your sister doesn't have to lose her crappy music files.

If you aren't virus scanning after pretty much every use than you can consider yourself lucky. Kazaa lite is even worse for virii than Kazaa, it doesn't have any of the auto antivirus software.

If he can, and he's not allowed, then that's officially not his problem. He knows what he needs to do to fix it, and its not within the current constraints to fix it. Either the constraints need to change, or he needs to tell his sister/family/whatever to go **** themselves.

Get this virus scanner, and try if it works, its supposed to be one of the best out there. The download seems to be pretty slow, at the moment, just click the link and wait for some time until it (should) pops up.
If this does not work, you should tell your sister that if she wont be more cautious about what she downloads, and that if she doesnt let you do with the computer what's neccesary to fix it, soon she won't be able to use the computer any more at all, because Windows will be too screwed up (if she doesnt get that, tell her she wont be able to use kazaa at all after that ).

if you even use any sort of p2p, you got to scan every single file before opening it to minimize chances of virus infections.

AVG > Norton > Mcafee... I hate those scanners.. but if you are going to buy a scanner, I would purchase PC-cillin or AVG Pro.. just because they do such a good job with online/free scanners. :-)
