<div class="IPBDescription">active SCs needed to playtest balance</div> I am organize a balance playtest via an adminmod/metamod plugin developed by Voogru

The following requirements are needed

-------Must have active regulars, people who know each other, play well together, and have a decent sense of the game. I'm not looking for super competitive players, but I am not looking for first timers either.

-------If your server has a reserve slot, I am required to have one for spectating purposes only. After the test is over, feel free to remove it.

------- Your server must field atleast 16 players consistently. I took off the max player count, but a 16 slot server is required.

------- You agree to leave the plugin active for atleast 2 weeks. The plugin will be avaiable on the server 24/7

------- You must find an active way to tell your players about the balance change, whether via forums, IRC, or in the game itsself. These players must know that the balance change is being tested.

------- You agree to have a survey available for all your members, and have atleast a simple majority of them fill it out.

------- A stats program that logs how many times each side wins is also required, I need this to get an accurate view. Also (not required, but also helpful) if you have access to wins the week prior to the balance testing, so I have something to compare it with, that would be EXTREMELY useful.

Another preference (not required, but would be REALLY good to test). How marine dominated is your server? Meaning do people generally try to get on marines or aliens.

    WE made two plugins for our servers thay are in testing phase.
    First is assigning players by thair score in psycho stats <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->.
    And the second one is a command "amx_sq lider1 lider2". It blocks joining teams
    and the chosen liders chose players one by one the teams are showed in the midle of the screan when the teams are ready the game start and auto asing is on do to chosen by liders teams. Its in test pchase to. Only on ns.pl2 Now. some thing like gather plugin on server im gone post some screens soon.

    There are a few things being tested via simple mod-plugins while Flayra is still in the midst of his move.. mostly minor balance changes and other tweaks. Adjusted damage numbers, resource numbers, and <i>possibly</i> feature-tweaks. They aren't listed as there are a few of them, and not all of them would end up applied to a given server during the course of a particular test-run.

    Though FW didn't seem to mention it, it'd also be a good idea to not be running any other mods (even 'fun' or 'useful' ones) aside from those assigned during the course of the testing run(s), to get a better feel for how the balance tweaks would affect an actual pub or clan scrim.

    Arsclan might be up for this, but only our match server uses adminmod these days. Can this changes be tied to a config, so we can easily turn them on and off?

    Yeah.. Lunixmonster is great for tests. We've tested quite a few stuff.. You could ask in the forums.

    I really do not want to release the information about the test. Its just a minor buff for the aliens, but we've tested it and had some interesting results. I want to do a more wide spread result on the testing. This is just an unofficial test to help balance the game out for the new version.

    People post a lot of ideas, this is my idea and I want proof either way to see if it works or not.

    Well , all due respect but I find the way you present it ridiculous.
    We went through beta 2.01c , remember ? It can't be worse.

    Unchained deserves to be implemented in beta 5 , and it won't take much coding since its frame is already done. I doubt anything can match its elegant simplicity , and bring back NS's attractiveness like it does.

    Erm... Stak, slow down there. FW is no official representative of the devs, nor is voog. Please don't throw yourself at their throats for not including something in beta five, which they have only indirect influence in.

    How about we give it a test, and NOT flame it before it's out, fair? I think so. Anyway, tell me if LM gets it, I want to play too. I miss the short time I did playtesting as a Vet :-/.

    well your community does not have to participate. Why would I test unchained chambers when there are several servers out there that already test it? Voogru already has 1 of his servers aboard, just need about 3-4 more.

    If you feel that my lack information doesn't warrant a test, than I'll find another community.

    Well , I was just reacting to the "requirements" , much too constraining for the good-willed server admins who might accept testing the undisclosed tweaks.

    I mean , 16+ players on a server consistently ? That's utopia , they'd need bots to meet that one <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I'm leanient with that rule, obvious a server cannot be filled 24/7. But what I mean by consistency is that when there are people on the server, it quickly populates, 8v8 is what I would like to test ideally, but obviously, as with any test, you cannot have perfect conditions.

    I'm note sure what all the comments are about.

    People have been clamoring for details, info, news anything.. And here Firewater is offering the community at large a chance to help out in the testing of one thing that's being discussed and people are still not satisfied??

    Get FW his servers and everyone will know what it is.

    The server I play at (ns2.joe.to) is almost always full or at least full enoughand its a 16++++++ server. We tried other plugins to help the aliens and would love to try another.

    As for the unchained chamber idea, it came from the PT's, not the dev's. I will not be doing gameplay mods with NS, unless Flayra tells me to.

    I say it came from the pt's because they wanted someone to make a quick plugin, I didnt check the forums enough to know if it may have originated from somewhere else.

    Either way, thats just one thing it does, theres one more slight change on aliens.
