looks more like a ninjato rather than a katana, the curve is too unnoticecable, and most katanas have circular tsubas, unlike rectangualar/square ninjato ones

It has a blade, it has a ninja thingy at the grip, so its a katana. Dont get nerdy about it

There is the right offset between hilt and point, katana it is, Middle Edo period, in a style known as Kambun-Shinto, about mid 17th century, which had a less-pronounced curve, although a blood-gutter was rarely used... The shape of the tsuba is irrelevant, while circular or cloverleaf were most common, there were endless variations. The handle could be a tad longer. I'd say the seeming lack of curve is more due to the low poly count in the blade than anything else. I'd love to see that model, to see how you did it in only 700... very nice...

It does look like a real katana, as I stated... I even specified the style and period it fit best. The katana was as much art as weapon, and there were many variations specific to different smiths- so my comment on the gutter, for example, doesn't mean that they were never used, just not a common feature, just like the shape of the tsuba. I just think an increase to the polycount of the blade would help smoothing make the curve more evident to the eye...
